With the June break in HFAY schedule, we have the opportunity to run a special event and want to reach out to all to see what would be the most desired style event? Trailer race? Spec body? Some other manner of spec race?
A fallback can be stock class 90mm wheelbase spec. All RTR kits come with a 90mm capable pods so only change would be moving a motor to a different motor pod configuration for a day. We can spec a body as well if desired. There are numerous to choose from and if left open, your just going to see 911 GT1, F40 and the like that are all wide track widths. I have lots of 90mm Autoscales such as Cooper, DS3, GT-01, F40, GT1. I like the 500 but again, not easily available.
Or perhaps a stock class 94mm wheelbase spec? Some already may run 94mm but not many. Certainly more than those that run 90mm for sure. I’m waiting anxiously for the R33 Autoscale which is 94mm. I prefer the R32 of all the GT-R’s but those are not easily available whereas the R-33 is a new release and can be found just about anywhere.
Just tossing out ideas. Let’s all chat about what is most popular choice as we need a majority to make more than a 3 car field.
Of the suggestions received thus far, the Porsche 911 cup seems more popular.
Onto more specifics, thoughts on spec motor? To better determine what motor, is anyone using a BL or BR only chassis? My assumption is most will have a BR only chassis vs. something that could do both meaning it would be best to choose a BR motor. If most have a BL chassis we can pick a BL motor. Just need to know what pathway to go that doesn't exclude the least amount of people.
