I would only say that there is a night and day difference between an Xmods and a Mini Z. It sounds like a good deal. Mini Z's for the most part is tigher built next to an Xmods.

dont expect to bash the Mini-Z like you may have done your X-Mod, Mini-Z isnt as durable, but is way more precise and very well worth $90, which is half what i paid for mine new

Xmods screws seem like they strip out faster to me. Anything will break if you beat it hard enough. Even the Monster is lighter and quicker off the line than an Xmods would be. That might be a factor in the durability. If an Xmods can move like that I am sure you would break something on it to.

I think Mini Z's for the most part is more durable than Xmods. But in the case of the Monster it is an open wheeled design. That is something to keep in mind when you plow into tables and walls and other things with it. Mine is mostly stock with the only alloy parts being the wheels. I jumped it and flipped it a number of times, and all I have to show for it is loose upper suspension rods. I've seen Xmods chassis parts break with very little to no stress put on them. Things like the knuckles that split on you and things of that nature.

Those AWD sets are good for a few spares. I have seen them crack from normal use.

It really depends who is driveing it, the mini-z's may break easyier because they are going faster, 89 dollars is a good price, Is this brand new in the box?

To put it this way, XMods suck compared to Mini-z's. Have you ever heard the term "you get what you pay for". Same thing here. Don't get me wrong the XMods are a great into to R/C, especially for the price of $50. But start pooring money into the XMod with parts from Radio Shack and the next thing you know it is $100 worth of parts. Then you spend another $50 for some of Robert Byrds XMod parts from atomic mods.com (which are very sweet, and i have had business with Rob and live 30 min away from him, p.s-ive been in his house...no crap) and it might compare to a Mini-z's speed. But, if you put $100 worth of parts into the MZM or any other Mini-Z it is a way better investment than the XMods. I used to think XMods were sweet but then the servo started to suck, the knuckles broke, the screws stipped. I just got fed up with it. The only problem i have had with the MSM is fried FET's and damper mounts. But FET's are a must have upgrade on these ne ways and alloy damper mounts are a must have also. Get a couple more alloy parts a faster motor and you got yourself a hell of a Mini-Z or MZM. I love my monster and i think XMods are having wet dreams about Mini-Z's.
