New-ish to mini-z

OK so I am new kinda to mini_z, just bought a MR-03VE Pro 02 with a McLaren 12c GT3 body set. Planning to run on a Kyosho track locally in Surrey BC Canada. Need tire recommendations and set up recommendations please.

I'll most likely be down on Sunday to the newton GTG and I'll have my box of tires you can buy some. Kyoshos work well on the 30cm tiles we use but I also have others that are excellent grip.

Do not buy any atomic tires as most compounds have silicon and ruin the grip levels for everyone.

we can talk set-up based on your driving style but it's probably best to start as stock as possible. I have extra stuff you can try as you get comfortable.

INFERN0, Welcome to the world of Mini-Z! =)

The forum you want to visit can be found >>HERE<<

We run on an RCP Track. Typically the guys run Kyosho tires all around.
We stay away from Silicon tires & do NOT sauce our tires.
I'd suggest shy'ing away from foams, yeah, they are awesome, but we prefer to run rubbers as they allow for a better racing experience & less damage. We can get deeper into the why's when you come out. =)

Tires - Typically I believe the guys run:
Front: MZW2-30
Rear: MZW17-20

Other than that, keep it mostly stock at first. IMO the first hop up's would be alum. knuckles in the front, maybe 1degree & a tie rod that has +1 out & a Disk Dampener.

I'd suggest even if you don't have a car this weekend, to come pop by & chat with the guys. Come see our setups, I'm more than sure I'd be willing to hand you over my radio to let you take mine out for a spin.

Sounds like you got the newest retro mr02 blue colored VEPRO? Excellent choice. What radio are you using?

Before you worry about buying tires check the insert that comes with the mclaren body. It'll say which tires are included. I've had a few bodies show up with the proper rear 20s and front 30s. Just pop the wheels off the dummy chassis and install on chassis.

Please tell me you didn't get the black body!

It's not really a rule per say, but a black body on a black track with these smaller scale cars = disaster!
