Thumbs up Squat Wide +7mm Diff Shaft

What you see is what you get, or some assembly and custom modification are required!

This is not a big deal to those who have the resources to make the mods!!

The shaft is what you get and it is well made. All of the standard diff parts assembled correctly and cleanly onto the new shaft. Once you get everything assembled you realize that shimming will be required to center the new diff and get the extended track width. There are no instructions or spacing shims included. There are some standard shims for the motor pod bearings and new locknuts for the diff, otherwise you are on your own to make the proper fitment.

The shaft can be adusted by using more or less spacing between the motor pod bearings and balldiff on the right and locking hub on the left. The threaded portion of the shaft that the wheels attach to are longer in length than your stock diff shaft. The proper shimming out from each side must be done to equalize the wheel track, left to right.

Once you get the spacing equal and the tires on, you will fill up the wheel wells of your car, to the point that clearance may be an issue. If it is, get out the dremel or try a harder suspension plate.

You must shim the ball diff equally on each side. I used nylon washers and shims leftover from old projects. Otherwise find some thin washers that don't interfere with your motor pod bearing clearance and that will fit the shaft. Plastic HARD tube can also be cut to length and placed between the bearings and the balldiff or locking hub. Sandwich the tube with included small shims to give a "bearing surface" to the tube or the shims.

Save for the lack of instructions, typical with Z aftermarket suppliers, and the lack of the very inexpensive washers to shim out the width, the shaft is a good investment for the "Wider is Better" performance junkies, like me!

Enjoy, it is a well machined shaft with perfect fit. Only time will tell if the added width will cause the shaft to bend more easily than the stock shaft. Thumbs up!

As precise as ever, thanks for the tip.
I am sure it will prove valuable to those newer Members who haven't got much experience in fabricating thier own mods.

The UberMod is back in town...

DAMZer, glad you like it, it's certainly one of the most innovative parts we've seen. Do you have the specs on the shims you used, if we can find them we'll offer them free with future and past orders?
