Looks like Kyosho Corp (not Kyosho America) has info up in English for the new Evo. Just set language to English and look under new products for December.

Looks like the Evo will come in either 98mm or 94mm/MM2 , and will need to purchase the receiver of preference separately. Also the ESC will be able to change between brushed and brushless via ICS settings. Initial receivers will be either fhss for RWD & FWD, AFS/MHS, or Futaba. While Sanwa will be available soon. Shows a photo of the receiver connection into the ESC. It's not a plug, more of a micro port. Looks proprietary, and very small. Brushless motors are a new 1piece design, so no more round can + aluminum sleeve.

You can see the port here. How does this proprietary port for open source receiver work in other scales? Is it a format that is widely accepted? Hate to see Mini-z finally get to this point only to have other systems not want to make a proprietary module for the Mini-Z.

By purchasing and installing an optional receiver unit depending on applied transmitter, it allows for Kyosho (KT-18/EX-6/EX-6R/KT-531P/KT-432PT), KO Propo (EX-2/EX-RR) and Futaba (T7PX/T7XC) transmitters. It will be also applied with Sanwa transmitter in future.

Receiver options aside, what has my interest is the ability to change from brushed to brushless! I'm keen to see how this is handled via hardware.

Unlike previous chassis sets, you can change to the brushed motor mode though the I.C.S manager to install an optional brushed motor.

They could be color coded, where red is not one of their proprietary bands?

I think kyosho used the red antenna for ve pro...
Other colors were black, blue (I believe for the sport series) and white (I think for the recent fwd and rwd using the new controller)

Guess it would definitely help to have antennas / antennae color
coded to simply things.

I think they also noted the photo was of one receiver as a stock image.

Red=MHS
black=ASF
Blue=FHS
white=FHSS

I hope they stick with color coding. Be consistent with that at least Kyosho.
