I have used auto bumper paint befor to give some silver wheels a nice satin black finish. The bonus to this paint is that if you spray at about 8" away and work very carefully to maintain about a 45* angle and spray in a square pantern to cover the opposit side of the wheel working from the outside of the wheel to the middle, it goes on lightly and gives a good even coverage. It's a thin paint and is forgiving of mistakes. You'll still want to keep it fast and light, these are small wheels and you don't want to throw off their balance. I would start with the back of the wheel first cuz any mistakes can be repaired with no affect to how it looks and this will give you practice to do the fronts. Plus the over spray will do some of the work for you and allowing for less paint. When you move to the face rotate it slightly so the 'square' changes and you distribute the paint's weight better. Another beni is that the paint will make the rubber tyres stay on better, atleast it did with mine.

Obviously wheels that are factory black will be better from a racer point of view who is trying to shave tenths of seconds (less unsprung rotating mass), but you could try this route and make sure it's what you want.
