Hello All,
I just installed the Kyosho MZW416 tube shock front end on my 90MM MR03 and it seems to have helped a bit as the car now holds the all time lap record on my mini-96 tracks. With that said I am still not happy with how free the balls are in the front arms. I went as far as using a very mild polishing compound and turning a kingpin in a drill in the hopes of loosening them up and while it got a bit better it is not terribly free.
How do you guys go about freeing up the ball joints on your Mini-Z's?
Mothers polish, and keep the duration of polishing relatively short. You want to minimize heat when polishing. Break it up into 5s spin and cool cycles, If you can reverse the direction the pin spins when polishing.
I find that if you get the plastic too warm, it will loosen up momentarily, but after cooling it is tight.
