yea..i mean i'm usually a stickler for my HSV...but when i went back to my HSV..it was like my HSV drove like poo in comparison.

if i didnt damage my motor i would have set even better times yesterday. as it was my first time on this new layout.

Ray, i dont think i have any rubbing at rear. Ill check if im running +3 or +2 on rear. Only thing i did was cut front splitter down. Only reason was i think the front sits a bit high. Alot of room in wheelwell above front tire. Looks much better now.

Yes, I had to file down the rear of the front arch to make the wheels not rubbing.

I run +3 offset and it works ok.
But I have not run it very much and just with a PN33T motor.
But I had some binding issues front and rear until I sanded down the spots you are refering to and much in the wheel well at the rear.

I got luck with mine. Just need light shaving in the rear. My freind wasnt as lucky as me. Had a lot of dremiling of rear flares. We run +3 in rear and I can fit +2.5 in front and on his +2 were tight.

We picked up a few white bodies to see if we can set up the side clips better. The 458 looks like a shark from the front when i look at it. very aggresive stylig. Also we don't true our tires so we have a lot of rubber on the rim.

On another note the r8 fits flush +3.8 in rear and +3.2 in front without dremil work. Might go a little less offset in front because if I scrape the side of rcp track it wants to climb the wall and put it on 2 wheels. The Audi looking at it looks like a streched out chop top vw super bug looking at it.

I guess i was lucky then...enough clearance for the wheels to turn properly. No rear end problems also!

So... I tried it... and then went back to my 599 for comparison.

Surprisingly, I don't like it. Yes, it turns in harder than the 599, but only a little bit, and I've got zero exit traction, the rear just diffs out and spins the inside rear tire all the way till I stop turning. I don't know if it's an aero thing, the rear bumper being a separate piece (and heavy), or just generally how the body is molded, but I wasn't able to go fast with it. My R8 is definitively faster, however it's now quite broken.

It liked climbing the walls, so I don't think I'll be getting it to race with. I am somewhat curious to see if someone will attempt the same aerodynamic mods as I have on my bodies onto the 458, I think it could be fast if you have a ball diff.
