Seven springs??! Simplicity is under appreciated.

seven springs = 7pm tonight at Cruizin!!!

2wd, Skinny, and AWD! Get those awd's out of the closet and bring them in. For the new people, we usually get out around 10:30, sometimes sooner, so come try this great carpet out! You will be surprised how enjoyable it is to drive.

Its a great middle of the week mini-z fix. Join in. Its a racing format, but relaxed and fun. AWD has almost 2 heats of drivers so far. Come join the fun, with these grunting, glued, beasts!

see you there...

Almost 2 heats! that's nice. Just want to reiterate, with the AWD, once you set it up correctly you will not need much more maintenance except for oil on the bearings, tires, motor and gearing depending on track. I haven't changed a thing in my AWD except for tire since I got the right set up for RCP and since I made to change to CARPET...a moment of silence please .................................................. .................................................. Ok that's good. Since I've been running my AWD on CARPET its its been the same way minus having to true tires down to nothing and gluing the hell out of the front side wall to keep it from traction rolling. Once I did change to harder springs then I changed right back to my original set up.

Also, I would say if you have your AWD in stock kyosho form don't start moding with SAS, DWS(if you have the new AWD set up then it will come with DWS) or even the PN front end right away (and NO I am not saying these systems are bad I have two SAS systems and one PN front end and I am working on them to get the hang of them they are all great systems and they have their pros and cons.) I would say set up the stock set up first get a good feel for the AWD with stock suspension then latter if you wish you should mod it. At this time I really feel the AWD needs ball diff all around, bearings, 1.5 to 2 degree knuckles all around, soft spring set up(like green springs on front and purple in rear or the reverse if you prefer a stiffer front end) heat sink and several of the motor spacers in metal to dissipate heat, a good mod motor( like the chili, Z2, T2), universal joints (i like the Atomic titanium set) and tires once you do that you are good to go. And last the CARPET is your friend, it is sensitive to changes but it is still your friend you will not be hacked by carpet (that's for you Sai)

See you all tonight.

What a nice fun night... smooth quick racing. (thanks to Max for keeping it flowing) Had fun running my "super" vitz. (red flowing cape and all)

AWD is great...my car keeps getting easier to drive. I love when they almost drive themself!
See you all on Saturday night.
(50/50 on the chance of rain on Sat so far)

Thanks for the kind words Jim.

Thank you! Jim, for all the work you've done on and off the track to improve the experience at Cruzin with RC's which was already a great place to race.

The AWD is a great chassis it can be intimidating to some but once you get the hang of it it becomes very easy to drive, easy to maintain and very fast especially on the carpet. I am glad we had such a nice turn out and hope more of those AWD owners that could not make it last night are able to in the future.

If you have the AWD put a little time into it you will be happy. Like Jim said; "Have an AWD...race the darn thing!" that is good advise

The cape was original......

I need more track time to increase my lap count......
I have a vintage skinny planned for next time.....

Another good thing about the cape is when I lose, I can just say I took one for the team in the name of cool!

Yeah, I think you came in, ran a few laps on the new layout,(to you) and then raced. Thats hard to do.

Im looking forward to seeing your vintage skinny on the track! See you soon, and congrats on your son!

Last Saturday the AWD class grew from 6 to 8 racer which allowed us to run an A and a B main. I know we have more racers with AWD out there, to name a few again

Eugene
Sai
Pete (his been MIA but i know like Arnold, He'll be back)
Shafiq
Max
Dave
Sly
Ron
Montgomery
Jim
Willy
Bondo (His brought his out before and I feel he will once again)
Sam
George
Philip

The ones in RED bring those AWD's they are screaming to run on the carpet

If your concern about them not being fast enough well my friends Eugene just set the record for all Miniz, 2wd and AWD. He hold the record for the hot lap and total laps with his AWD on this carpet track
