New track near Detroit!
I am currently in the process of building a track that will have a 20' back stretch, grass in-field, and full timing and scoring. I am trying to make this track as scale appering as possible so I want to have full tire barriers. The track will be in my basement but I plan to have race nights at least once a week. Racing will be free. I am looking for old mini z tires to build my barriers so send yours if you can. As soon as I finish gathering all the materials it should only take a week or so to build. I hope to have racing started by Oct. or Nov. at the latest. I work full time and go to school at night so I don't have a lot of time to shop for materials.

I've been smacking my head for a few days now, that big massive horde of models my dad recently through out (see off topic threads), had quite a few tires in it, but did I save them? NO! hahah, I picked out the "cool" ones and threw them in a box.. so I do have some of them... as the trash truck picked them up I thought "tire walls..." Oh well...
I plan to instead... get some of that super soft plastic clay, and basicly make one set of walls from the tires, and duplicate the tire walls in large chunks out of the clay.. (hardens to plastic/rubber in oven). I do have a few monster truck tires for inner hair pin barriers hehe...

hey lightfighter,
sounds cool. let me know when its finished. I just found out that I may be moving soon. so there will be a slight delay with the track. also, where did you find lasers for your lap counter. did you ever race at Larry's on Utica Rd?

Larry's track kinda sucks for Mini-Zs too many cuts tears and frayed spots, along with complete saturation of track compound, will turn soft mini-Z tires into puddy.
There use to be a track (10 years ago or more) on Mound and 14mile I think... it burnt down once, and rebuilt I know that, but its been way before the fire that I was there last, might not be there any more.

lets get a race together next week. if anyone has a track we can run on that would be great. Drac, the track was at 13 & Mound, it was called JJ's. I used to race there too, but they closed about 5 yrs ago.
