happy owner of a new Mercedes Benz G55 AMG
i just got my new silver autoscale in the mail today! record time too, about 2 days
the first thing that struck me was learning the benz uses the longest front damper (A). this and the h1 being the only ones to do so. it also came with an updated optional parts list for all the current and new overland autoscales which i have naturally scanned and added to the overland parts album in the part in use gallery.
the detail as expected was very nice. i mean, come on... it's a shoe box on wheels but kyosho pulls it off well. some other quick points are:
-this thing is tall if you thought the land cruiser was high up, this one goes even further
-this thing is long too. about the same as a land cruiser but the spare tire on the back nudges it just past the land cruiser in length.
-this thing is wide as well. it seems kyosho, not happy with making the racer wheels confusing enough with mulitple offsets has begun the adventure with overlands as the G55 wheels have offsets.
-it comes ready for light sets! you know what i'm doing next weekend. now why they stuck the light socket in the reverse light area in the rear is beyond me. it's going to look a bit off having a red led in it but what can you do...
i replaced my beater blue x5 which was on my racing overland chassis with this body and i plan to test it on the track tomorrow. given it's added wheelbase length, i'm hoping it compensates for the HIGH body height.
oh, for the crawlers...this body will look very nice with some larger meats expect to seem some in my album soon
of course i took more pictures which can be seen here:

i also included some body comparisons with the land cruiser, x5 and pajero

Hey, Arch (i'm just guessing), maybe the idea is to put a white led, not a red one. In a real car, when you're in reverse, 1 or 2 white lights on the rear are on...
Anyway, congrats on your new autoscale...it was never one of my favourites, but i must admit it has some mistery beyond it...

Very nice Arch. Your collection is getting bigger all the time. You should have your new LC soon too. Where are you going to keep it all?

i order 99% of stuff from the shop here the usual is about 3 days but a few times it's made the journey in 2. afterall, priority shipping is 2/3 day shipping (suggested ofcrouse)
pedro- yeah, i know but how many light sets have you seen with white reverse lights?
paul- don't you worry i can find a good use for the 239 lc. your right though, i am running out of room again... thanks again for the deal

That would look great chopped behind the first door, like a pickup. You could also chop it behind the second door, chop some of that off, and then glue it back together like a crewcab pickup. Nice body, lots of potential projects!!
Do you think the G55 offset wheels would work for the Pajero? Are they normal or wide?

stoovey- all kyosho overland wheels are normal width in term of tire width. i suspect the h1 has offset as well and i'm sure the G55 wheels would work on any other overland as gpm wides tend to work well.
t.l.- i intend to get another one of these G55's to start some custom body work. i think chopping the back after the 2nd window is the best bet. maybe do something like my offroad land cruiser. give me a few weeks and i'll have some sketches to upload

hi arch,
I love that truck, this will be my next purchase
in your album, G55 seems to be larger than LC, is this true ??
so normally, lego tires will fit well, isn't it ??
a+
