A member of our club..stock MR-02 cars...is having a very odd issue with his car...while racing , the car will totally shut down..for 2-3 seconds, then operate normally.
We have done ALL the obvious....ie: switch..wiring...battery holders...transmitter and batteries...cold solder joints, etc etc etc. We have been fighting this for over 6 weeks now...very frustrating. He is now convinced there is an issue with the main board. The problem is..we can not find a replacement board ANYWHERE!
It appears they are totally unavailable. We had considered using aftermarket receiver and esc, but then ALL members would need to change. Very frustrating.
I'm hoping that maybe a member here may know of even a USED MR-02 board we could buy. If not...perhaps an idea we haven't thought of.
Hopefully, this is something we can resolve without everyone else having to
alter all of the member's cars
Thanks
Maybe try a DasMikro ASF brushed mr03 clone board? search banggood for dasmikro, costs about $30. does not come with servo components (pot/motor). Accepts ICS adjustment. Would only need to trim the cover for the PCB to clear the extra port.
If that doesnt suit the class, then I should have an old AWD or MR02 ASF board without servo components.

If you want old crystal MR02 boards, I have a couple laying around. If the controller is ASF, as EMU mentioned, the Das Micro ASF MR03 clone board is great, I'm currently running three MR02 with that board. I prefer them over the Kyosho MR02 ASF boards, reverse delay is fixable.
FWIW, I had a similar problem with my son's MR03 sport. I reset both the chassis and the KT19 controller. Fixed the problem.
Thank you, Gentlemen! Great ideas. In this case..to keep things as similar as possible, EMU...I'd like to hear more about perhaps buying the used MR-02 board from you.
I will look into the DasMikro boards for the future. Thanks again!
Is the square thing on the motor still connected? Maybe you can take it off... Had a similar thing happen to one of my mr03 cars... power cutting out, usually while going full out on the straight.... I de-soldered and re-soldered the antenna wire... seemed to help...
Otherwise the das mikro option seems to be the solution... got some mainly to swap out am boards but havent gotten around to actually putting them in...
The antenna was just one of the many things we've looked at....wasn't the issue....this one really has us stumped.
I'm afraid to use a different board. If we get one...install it...and he becomes 1 second faster, everyone ELSE will scream that he's cheating...then we'll ALL have to swap to the same board.
That's why I'm trying hard to keep all things the same.
