Y? Stuie. Y? I thought you were getting out of the mini scene? You sold all of your stuff just a week ago. Then you said said you are in the body painting business. Now you wanna make a raceable Xmods? Be prepared to invest alot of money and time into something that most likely wont work too well. Have you ever seen a Yugo with a V8 racing in the 24 hrs. of Daytona?

However, if it does work: I'll be the first to take a Stumods, with a custom body by Stu.

They may be cheap stock, but once you start changing electronics, chassis parts. . . they arent as cheap anymore. One of the biggest problems with the xmods are the gears/diffs.

Which generation Xmod are you working with?

Stu: Why are you trying to train a mule and hoping one day it will beat a horse?

I did, that's how I ended up here.

And "some body" change my wording.
I knew I could have used mule or donkey, but I chose A$$, because it rhymed with horse.

With you there. Also I've noticed that plenty hop-ups actually hinder those mules rather than boost em. I think a new chassis for a Z would be a much better "waste" of time.

go for it

i have just recently started racing xmods at a new club (new to me) and the Z's dont even get close

i have tryed running my o1 02 and awd and none of them will get me the laps like my xmod even the guys running 03's are a least 4 laps down
and the rules of the club are only RS upgrades can be used so this isnt a £200 xmod

How would you say the club is setup in terms of radio usage? I've started a club in Chicago where we provide the equipment including the cars. I'm running into radio interference. How are your Xmods behaving compared to the Mini-Z?

I may need to go all 2.4ghz of this to work out for us but I want to keep the Xmods around for other events (car soccer, demolition derby, figure 8 racing)

You say they don't come close? In terms of lap times? Or is it mainly a case of driver experience? What radio are you using? I'd really like to SEE an xmods wip a 03 in a fair test enviroment.

Reaper not sure how long you've been driving, but I for one and I think a few others would like to see a properly set up (either 02 or 03) get whomped by an Xmod
Honestly I doubt it could happen if the drivers were evenly matched

I drive the Xmods while the club members run the MR-02 Mini-Zs. I do that to handicap myself. Though I do get great enjoyment good laps with the XMODs, it requires much more effort.
