Wheels for Mini Cooper
Hello. I was interested in the red wheels that come with the Lancia Stratos rally car for my new Mini Cooper S MR15. I was wondering, I know that the rear wheels are too wide, but will the front wheels work? Or is the offset sucn that it'll be too wide for the Cooper? I think if the offset will work, the red wheels will look sharp on the red Mini Cooper. You know which wheels I'm talking about?

Ok, thanks! I wanted to know if the offset on the Lancia Stratos was 0 or not. I'm not talking about the new AWD Lancia, I mean the older one which I think was for MR01.

you would have to use 2 sets, to get 4 of the fronts from that car, it has Wides in the rear... I have never seen this body in person I do not know the offset of it.
check the offset charts that have been made...

Yes, I already figured that part out. Of coarse I have two use two set's of front's. I'll check the list to see if the offset will be suitable. Mean while, I've got a set of chromed PN wheels that have the BBS mesh pattern and are 0 offset. Those will be for the Mini Cooper for now.

I'm running the following combination:
1,5mm offset (narrow) at the front
-1,5mm offset (wide) at the rear
without any further modification - just the camber has to be at least 1° and you only use the old 02 3racing diffi (don't tighten the nut on the pinion side too much ...)
In combination with lowering the chassis a little at the front and rear, the correct damping at the rear (DPS+oil damper) and hard front springs some had a hard time trying to follow me at the CRC track even with a VDS body
Cheers,
Jo

With a little sanding/grinding (inside of wheelwell areas, behind headlight area), I set my Mini-Cooper up with 0W/1N wheels. Not a good idea on an MR01, but on an MR015 it works well. On my MR01 I broke my left knuckle after an accident with another car. I also have been running 2N rear wheels which run well with a stock motor setup where the wide rear wheels arent really needed due to the low power....

This is an absolutely true statement!! Jo's Cooper is supreme on the track, amazing to watch. And just to mention that so is his AWD Murcielago, isn't that right Jo?

Thanks guys! I also have Square inch up wheels but they are the ten spoke variety and I don't think they'd look as good as those BBS ones. I also thought about useing the gold BBS wheels from the Porsche bodies. But I've traded my white wheels for another set for another project. So, I'll need to find the gold versions soon.
I'd like to see more pics of Mini Cooper's in this thread. And please, let's keep this thread ONLY for the Mini Cooper. No other's........................

Sweet! RC Kennon just shipped out my Mini Cooper today priority mail! Hopefully it'll be here Friday or Saturday if the weather cooperates! But looks like the weather might start getting nasty again Saturday, so I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE it arrives Friday.
I'll take pics of it when it arrives.
