Radio question

I am thinking of using my Kyosho Perfex radio on 27mhz with a receiver I have which is on 29mhz.

Does anyone know how to convert the receiver from 29mhz to 27mhz?
Alternatively, can the Perfex radio be converted from 27 mhz to 29mhz?

Thanks

Oi part4a, check this thread I started

http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showth...&threadid=4234

Basically what I am suggesting is to simply try a 27MHz Rx crystal in your 29 MHz receiver. Just see if it works. If it doesn't, bugger...I am sorry I cannot really help. But putting a 29MHz crystal into my Mini Z Rx has worked a treat, if not better than 27 MHz.

Thanks Psyklops - I'll give it a go.

Like you, I thought there was a thread which said you could adjust a potentiometer in the back of the TX to improve reception. I was hoping there was also something you could do to increase the range of frequencies you could use.

To increase the reception there is apparently a pot inside the Perfex Tx that you turn. I believe it is behind the sticker on the back of the Tx case. Feel the sticker, you will find the hole. I have read that by turning the trim pot you can increase the output of the Tx...thus increasing the signal from the Tx....thus improving reception. I have not done it...I don't have to. So I cannot say which way the pot should be turned. I do know that it will reduce the battery life a bit, as it will consume more power. Always use your Tx with the aerial fully extended as apparently the Tx uses more juice to push the signal through the aerial if it not extended. The signal from my Futaba Tx is much more powerful than the Perfex, and my range is great. Plus there is less glitching. Also, try to ensure your batts have a good charge, as the lower the charge, the weaker the signal will be. I am pretty sure that is right

Hey Psyklops

I read your thread about installing the turbo FETs. Since we are in Melbourne, is there any chance of showing me how to do it so I can do it to my cars.

My email is part4a@hotmail.com

Thanks
