I had an Atomic FRP soft h-plate installed on my McLaren. It was great, perfectly flat, didn't induce any chassis tweak whatsoever, returned to level after compression, but it broke in a matter of three runs. I don't have the luxury of RCP (I drive on smooth blacktop) so I understand going through h-plates quicker than normal, but none of the carbon ones I have used before broke this quickly. I just wanted to know if anyone else has found these plates to be abnormally brittle in comparison to carbon ones. I hope this was just a fluke, I really like the fact that these are actually perfectly level...
I tried them out for a little, with the same results... they break very easy, but when they work, they work well... Had the same problem with the side plates for the F1.

I prefer the Kyosho plates, then the PN. I havent tried any of the Atomic Carbon... but they may be worth a shot. TopCad and 3Racing are too stiff... and do not recenter well. The only somewhat usable one is the soft. I usually use Kyosho medium or hard plates...

Could it be that your rear wheels are contacting something? I've had my FRP installed since they were released with countless packs run through the car, and it's still perfectly flat - no tweak. Old track was ozite with wood barriers, which wasn't forgiving. Where exactly did it break?
PB-My wheels aren't coming into contact with anything, I just run on a blacktop 'track' that consists of me running it through the painted parking lines. It fractured in the center, obviously the weekest point. It didn't break all the way through, it only fractured about half way. I was using the soft one so it isn't going to take abuse as well as one of the thicker ones. Which hardness were you using? I may just try them again along with the Kyosho ones...
I think I will try out the medium thickness since you aren't having any issues with it. I'll just have to tune the front accordingly. Maybe the soft is just a bit weak, I know that it actually was very soft. I don't have any pics, I rigged it with some CA glue and drove it through a half a pack before it split all the way through. After that I just tossed it in the rubbish...
