Do you think anyone would mind...
if I compiled a list of the track in the tracks thread. I would probably do it by state so people could find tracks in their area pretty easily.
I was thinking of posting the following information...
Name of Store (if the track is in a hobby shop)
hours
if racing is available
racing classes
cost for track time
cost for races
timing/lap system system
Description of track
links to website or pictures
any suggestions
I would also have to figure out a way to deal with people's personal tracks. I don't think everyone would want the whole world to know if they have a track in their basement.

anytime someone is willing to condense infromation ot make it more accessible, i'm all for it.

Yeah, I was talking about taking the inofrmation in that thread and listing the public tracks by state. That way you could just scroll down to your state and see what tracks are there. I think it would be better than having to read the entire thread, or even search through it.

arch you have a good point, I think I'll start with the public tracks, hobby shops etc. and go from there.

Good feedback Techno, maybe two sections then. One could be a track directory and another could be a user directory, for people looking for racers.
I'll see how the track directory works out and build from there.

Spoon, if you want to do the research, we'll do the coding and set up a searchable tracks section on the site. That thread is just a sort of placeholder until we get around to a proper tracks DB.

So after going through all of the posts in the tracks thread. I came up with 25 tracks. There were 1 or 2 that just said something like..."There's a track in the mall, it's awesome" that I really couldn't do anything with.
If anyone would like to add more tracks to the tracks thread, I'll add them to my spreadsheet.
If the information is available I really need the following...
Track name
Website
Street Address
City, State, ZIP
Phone Number
Hours
Race Times and Days
If this info gets posted, I'll add it to the database.

Mine's a home track as well, not commercial. We have a club however that get's together at least once/month to race. We are in Salt Lake City, Utah, and this is the website www.slcminirc.homestead.com . Our race schedule is posted there. Those interested can either email slcminirc@comcast.net or call and leave a message at 801-840-9442.

The info was added and the directory is updated. I made it a little nicer looking too. Not much, and the links aren't active yet, you'll have to cut and paste but it's here.
It's broken down into stores and individuals.

ARCH I added your info too.

The NY web links and addresses are mixed up. But I like it! Good job. No tracks in NJ?
