memory shape antenna or is it shape memory antenna??? anyway...
well, i got one of those Kyosho antennas made with the fancy metal with memory...
it looks excactly like the regular antenna except the guage is just a little larger...
it does seem to take a beating and bounce right back, so i like that! also, since it is specific to the monster and OL, it should be the optimal length, etc. for good reception... (assuming that makes a difference... which it seems to with mine... especially around the fridge)
but i suspect you folks who don't like the look of the stock antenna will still prefer something a little more "scale"... anyway, it is what it's advertised to be!!! i recommend it if you like the stock antenna...
also, i got some of those soft sponge tire inserts... i really like those as well ...
they do take some shock out of jumping impacts... seems to help cushion when you smack a wheel into stuff, too... i do notice the better cornering that Kyosho promised as well... anyway, i'd consider spongy things, too!
the optimal length is determined by a equation involving the exact frequency your using... there are a few threads on it however i don't fully understand the science behind it.
one of the first things i got for my monster were the soft foam inserts and they make a BIG difference in the way it handles. they are well worth the money.
so how far can you bend the antenna and still have it unfold?
i have bent it 180 deg. to about 1/4 inch apart at the bend and it snaps back... have you ever seen those metal glasses frames that you can bend and twist and they snap back? it's like that...
