We as a group did discuss this earlier today while ice racing. Unfortunately we are predominantly 70t club and feel we would be at a sizable disadvantage running all mod classes. I understand the larger layout but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be close fun 70t racing. Unless were 8' lanes with all wide sweeping corners(i know this is not the fact). Not everybody is a mod class guy. That's why at lease one class per cup was suppose to be 70T, not to mention the close racing. And stop and think about the kids and any new racers showing up.

We had several guys at the shop today. Josh, Michael Hatley, Shelby, Rodney, Conner, Terry, Albert, Matt, the kids, and myself(Basically our traveling guys). If I leave you out please forgive me. We all agree there should be at least one 70t class per event as originally decided on. The Carolina Cup series was a joint club decision. Parties from both clubs decided on these rules and we believe it should stay that way.

In all honesty, the class decision is the hosting club's choice.

Here's a neat twist maybe for race 3 and 4. Since the hosting club always has a small advantage with layout. Weather it be multi level, down for a few days or a week or two. How about the visiting club pick the classes?

And with that said, Classes? Obviously the big three are always is place. GT, Can Am, and F1. LM is always an obvious class for us. Does this class have any following at all at the beach, and if not what's it going to take to see a few? Are there any other options?

I know there was some talk last year about making all the can am classes weight unlimited. I know all the guys here at High Speed are fine with that. Tell me what you think.

As far as the 5th race. Definitely at the end of the series. This is something else we were talking up today. How about the Darlington area. All we need is a hotel or motel conference room for Friday evening and Saturday. Show up Friday with RCP, design as we go. Set up and race. If we all get rooms we'll probably get a good discount on the rooms or the conference room. And entry fee is a great source of income to pay for the facility and awards.

the down side i see to the picking the classes for the other club is that the club should pick based on what the locals run. i.e like the last event we had we ran 90mm, and hsh runs lm. its just what the locals run. if say we pick hsh to run mod awd 90mm do you feel anyone from hsh would run it. same with us and lm. we have a couple that would run it but odds are not many would chose to run it over another class. i have nothing against lm but im just not going to setup a chassis to run a couple times a year. i never understood the fact of having can am that allows lm, but lm does not allow pan. to me it should be all one or totally separate.

just my 2 cents. as long as we race and do it as much as possible i am happy happy

Hey guys, please keep general discussion about the overall series off this thread.
I have started a new thread "Carolina Cup Challenge General Discussion Thread", please keep general discussion there.
This thread should be about 2013 CCC Race #1.
Thank you.
