straight driving

Hey,
i know that my mini-z has that wheel thing to adjust the steering. But once i get it running straight, after a lil bit it will go back to being off set again, is their a way i can get it going straight for a longer period of time?

Do you run into the walls alot? If you do then all your doing is knocking it off center. The mr-01s to me were harder to keep straight. I used an alloy tie-rod 1 deg toe in and it helped alot. Another thing is when you adust the steering sharpness it takes it off center so you have to adjust one with the other.

Perhaps he's hitting the walls because his cars flails out of control randomly?

If that's happening, you're definitely knocking it off-center...that is, if you don't break anything because your cars flipping out.

If it is happening like that, you've got a potentiometer issue, as many 01's do.

The internal wires may be touching each other. For a quick fix, you can fold a small piece of paper & tape it to separate the wires.

if you are useing plastic bushings and not bearings you could have esess slop in the front wheels and this can cause the car to wander when going stight. Also there is a possibility of a loose or falty potentiometer in the servo. I had this exact problem with my MR-01 i used it so much that the car became un driveable. It would not track true at all. The potentiometer wore out, they can be tricky to replace.

My experience is the Kyosho radios don't hold the trim setting well at all. Since I switched to a Futaba 2PL I have had far fewer steering trim problems if any at all. Also, the digital nature of the 2PL allows me to dial in the trim much more accurately. That silly little dial on the Kyosho Perfex is so darn sensitive that's all but impossible to get the trim just right.

^ Here, here! I must spend at least a half hour a week trying to get the damn thing just right.

Doesn't help that Kyosho's cars are often tweaked.
