Info needed
I just bought these black 8-spokes for my VW project.. should they have come with wheel nuts?
There was an adapter, but no nuts.. is this correct? I got suspicious because it seems the pack has been opened leaving the staples intact.
I'm hoping for a quick ansver as I still have a few hours before the shop closes.
Thanks.
I bought a set of wheels from kyosho and all they came with were wheels. Are they the black mini-lite style from the Trueno?? I haven't ever seen those anywhere if those are the ones you bought. If I were you, I'd fell lucky you got an adapter Does the adapter fit the stock plastic wheel nuts, or is it too small?? If it's too small, there should have been some alloy nuts with it.
Yep, they are the "trueno" wheels. I got them because they kind of look like 8 spoke wheels from EMPI that are common on VWs. Anybody tried painting the wheels? I also bought a sheet of satin aluminium bare metal foil, thought I'd give it a go and try coating the wheels with that.
The adapter didn't fit alloy nuts, I also do not use the plastic kind anymore, I stripped a few threads, switched to normal alloy nuts that I had at work.... got tired of them flying all over the place so now I have the red! alloy nuts from kyosho.
I think I need some more nuts.. also a 2nd set of bearings and, and.. damn.. there's no end to this
I agree the genuine Kyosho alloy wheelnuts rule. They come with the smaller wrench too.
The other aftermarket alloys lose their plastic lock bushing.
I have about 10 sets of TopCAD black alloy wheelnuts for my CLK and F1. every time I go to my LHS, I just have to buy another set, as three out of the five in the bag end up losing the platic locks.
I have one set genuine Kyosho blue alloy wheelnuts for the Peugeot 206 WRC and they havent lost their plastic thread locks yet..
As for the non-stop need for parts, well, it is called a hobby!
Whoa! if you go through that many nuts per day, maybe you should find some place that sells them by the pound ?
Sounds like you'd crunch you way through a bag of nuts in no time
Your local Würth representative maybe?
And for what they charge for kyosho nuts around here they blody well should keep their locking ability for the better part of eternity.
Wow, I use RCRM alloy nuts on my main race car and I'm still on my first set, I've never experienced any wear. I hate the Kyoshos as they are so big and ugly that they really ruin the scale look of the car.
