Thanks Hood!!
If I can make it out I may need a F1 transponder. I'm not sure if the one I have works. Would anyone have one I can borrow if this is the case?
I'm really interested in racing my F1, but need to work on it some more. I have a stock MR-02, but don't have a beater body yet to sacrifice for racing. I'll have to see what I can come up with tonight.

I have bodies..

What Wheelbase is your MR02, I am sure I can find you a body that will work..
Corvette or 575GTG for 94, Enzo, Merc, or PN Pancar for 98mm..

There are only a few F1s, so adding a transponder to it shouldn't be that hard. I have a spare.

We run the 01,015,010, and 02 for the first part of the day, then we save an hour at the end of the day for the F1s. This will be the first organized racing for our F1 class, but Brad's car looks really good.

See ya on Saturday.

Newcomers always welcome.

We meet twice per month. The first week is usually the On-Line Point Series (www.HowFastAreYou.com), which is an international series held on smaller layouts. The second week is usually the AZGT Championship. This is our local series held on longer circuits and alternate between sprint and enduro races.

The sporting regulations PDF for this season's AZGT is at the beginning of this thread. We're only one event into the six event series, so plenty of points available.

Saturday is a Sprint event: Two 5min and one 10min race clockwise (points scored in each of the three), then repeated in the counterclockwise direction (three more points opportunities).

The AZGT gets a break in June for a Fun Run day, then returns for the Petit Le Mans event in July (two 30min races).

These Kyosho bodies are very sturdy, it takes a lot to even scratch them. (Note however, we are running faster motors for this series, so the impacts are a bit harder). The user-painted bodies are a little more prone to scrapes though. Have you seen what happened to my McLaren?

Ah, don't worry about it. Just run it and have fun.

Hope to see you there.

*** AZGT Week 2 Results ***

(Corrected score. Bill has 26 points, not 16. And here I thought I advanced a spot)

We're back to racing in the AZGT Championship. There was a little hiccup with the AMB timing this round, so the Clockwise Sprints A and B were only 4min instead of 5min. (I forgot my camera this week, so no pictures).

***June AZGT Schedule***

(Note further scoring corrections above to Bill and Joe's positions. I'll get it right yet).

Entering the mid-point of the AZGT series, we come to the Petit Le Mans round. This will be two 30 minute endurance races running Clockwise and Counterclockwise.

Qualifying is done F1 style with three 10 lap races to determine grid order. A maximum of 10 points can be scored in each Petit Le Mans, with an additional 1,2, and 4 points for the top three qualifiers. So a maximum of 28 points are up for grabs.

Brad has designed a rather high speed circuit this time with The Phoenix Speedway. With our hotter motors and the near continuous floor-it nature of this layout, you best get a good charge on those batteries.

The F1 test last month, while great fun, didn't even start until we were supposed to be packing up. So from a practical standpoint it would be too difficult to jam it into an AZGT day. Still, they are so much fun to drive I really want to run an F1 series. Let's figure out a way to do this.

The AZGT Championship
Week 3: Petit Le Mans
At the Phoenix Speedway

Saturday, June 30th
Don Jackson Enterprises / Phoenix Porsche
1931 W. North Ln. (19th Ave and Peoria)

CW Petit Le Mans

12:00-12:30 Qualifying

2:00-2:30 Qualifying
2:30-3:00 Race

*** AZGT Week 3 Results ***

The Petit Le Mans round of the AZGT Championship saw some very fast racing around the Phoenix Circuit. Despite the unusually high velocity there was very little damage, with the exception of Brad's Skoal Bandit VDS which lost a terminal about of front fender.

Mini-Details also joined us for the second race of the day and now has points on the board. We were glad you made the drive out from Chandler and hope to race with you again soon. Don't forget the new season of the OLPS begins in July, plus there is the upcoming Formula 1 season around October.

These are just some photos I shot for a promotional flyer for the upcoming PN Regionals and a 6hr Enduro. More on that soon:

*** AZGT Week 4 Results ***

The AZGT Championship kicked off the second half of the season with a Sprint round at the Christiansenring. A very fast, flowing circuit that was a lot of fun. Catch the technical section right and you could stay wide open nearly the whole time, pulsing the throttle at just the right moment to hook around the hairpins.

Even though there were about four different motor types out there, the racing remained fairly close. We even had a new driver join us and did alright for having just picked up a Mini-Z for the first time about 5min before the race.

The field is running much closer together now making for some tight finishes. DJ in particular I think earns the Most Improved award. After switching from the stylish Porsche 935 to the low CG McLaren LM, he's running fast and dicing it up with the rest of the pack. Well done.

The Christiansenring was assembled a bit different than planned, here is how it looked in place:

Brad with Practice...

Yeah, That is all we need!!!!

Brad was 20 seconds infront of anyone else in a 10 lap qualifying session. I think he just needs more practice..

Hood

P.S. Go and practice with that 1/8 scale missile..

Any layout available for the next AZGT? What is the format for the next event. Can't wait to let the Sinister rip. Too cool..............................

I haven't kept up on the schedule, sorry, been extremely busy with work.

The OLPS is tomorrow, the 11th at Joe's.

The AZGT is next week, the 18th at DJ's. I was considering moving it back to a day race as the weather settled down real nice for awhile, but its starting to feel like a traditional Phoenix August again. So I'm thinking 4-10pm. The evenings are still reasonable and the cooler should be able to cool the place nice.

I forgot to get names of people that want in the Design Pool, so I figured we'd let Bill do another one. I haven't received one yet though, so I'll have to pick one shortly.

I'll post a formal schedule as soon as I can hold my eyes open.

Attached is the revised design grid for DJ's. There's some wiggle room there, so if you have a design that needs a little extra space one place or another, just be aware of how tiles will have to be nudge around.

We can also raise the lifts to find more room, but be aware of visibility issues with the posts.
