Convincing to buy a Mini Z!

help guys!

I'm trying to justify someone to buy a Mini Z, but he says its way too expensive for that kind of a "toy".

Any tips? Ideas?

You can always let him play with yours for awhile.. (somehow that sounds soo wrong) ... but really. Let him be his own judge. If hes not convinced after that then so be it. We all have our own price. Challenge him to find something comprable to the mini-z for $50.00
I think he will get the point when you are running circles around his Canned Heat.

I don't think you can convince someone to get an R/C vehicle. They either want one as soon as they're exposed to the hobby, or else they just aren't interested. At least that's been my experience.

Here's one strategy: tell your friend to think of it in terms of how much he'll use it. If he pays $150 for his Mini-Z, and only uses it 10 times, then thats $15/session, which is cheaper than for example going bowling or something, and if he uses it more than 10 times (which obviously you hope he will) then it's an even better value.

Hey canned heats are awsome! Im in a slow but continuis(sp?) project faze with my canned heats. One is a 4, maybe 5 cell, modified motor, fully perportional(i dont know how to spell these big words, lol) steering and throttle. The other I want(key word is want) to be an 11 cell modified canned heat with a custom pan car chassis. Im pretty sure both of them will be very fast. My 4 cell one will probably even keep close to a mini-z with hobby electronics in it. Ill post pics when im done(expect to be waiting a while, lol)

TYCO vs KYOSHO

xxtrgp - So you have a canned heat... cool. Sounds like you have some plans for upgrading as well, nice. Do let us know how your project goes. Nothing personal to canned heat enthusiasts,
I just know that out of the can, they are not as fast as the mini-z is all. Thats just an un-biased observation.
Maybe with your modifications you can give an out-of the box mini-z a run.

xxtcrgp, can you post some more info on your canned heat mods? Sounds cool. In fact, could you post them on TinyRC.com under the "Other" section, I think a lot of people would be very interested.
