Foam tires for mod class
Anybody run foam tires on their MR-02 mod car? What kind of set up did you change when running foams from rubber? I'm running on Ozite carpet.
If you guys haven't try any foam tires, check out GQ Products Mini-Z C2 foams.
GQ Product LINK
I was not able to find the Hudy micro tire truer for a reasonable price so I put one together myself.

in my opnion there's no compaison the foams have much better grip and the power tyres last a very long time even with using Paragon traction compound of course were I race I'm only allowed to use foams in what we call outlaw class we have a few other classes we race but, they're limited to rubber tires only now if I could use foams in all classes I would

sweet deal man. I'll definently look into getting a set of these for my mr-02. How is the wear on these tires? I've heard people claim that on the larger scale, wear is not even noticable and some are still on their first set.

that'd be a tire truer; ya know, to cut the tires to as close as it can get to a cylinder.

I ran on one pair running every Monday for about a year about the year mark is when I had to toss them and break out a new pair the tires seemed to start coming unglued from the rim and I'm still running on another set and I bought the set about 2 years ago they're not to expensive around 10 or 15 dollars for a set of 4 it just depends upon where you find them, as of right now the only place I can find them is overseas, wish I could find a place in the states, I really need a new set of fronts

Hi nivlacs3z,
we're just running foam tires and we have a long history.
The best foam tires we've found are the following ones:
http://www.rc-tec.de/shop
-> go to "Mini-Z MR015 / MR02" -> "Reifen"
Look for "Moosgummi-Reifen (Paar) breit 3,5 Shore!" on that page
Art.Nr.: rtm001
Preis: 3,49 EUR
With these tires you'll neither need a truener or traction compound. Unfortunately the usage is high and they just last two or three race day. The track record was made in the CRC with these tires.
As second best we have the following two:
http://www.atomic-shop.de/index.php?...emart&Itemid=7
Look for "Moosgummi-Reifen" on that page
Moosgummi-Reifen der Spitzenklasse , 8 Shore , der Grippwahnsinn , Inhalt 2
Truener needed
or alternatively:
http://www.miniracingbolaget.com/pro...upp=Foamd%E4ck
From the shop http://www.miniracingbolaget.com
Look for "RRSEW-Foamdäck - InZane Race Rear Wide" on that page
they are 29mm wide, so you'll get 2 pairs for this set.
Truener needed - very long lasting
We've looked around and tested ~ 40 different types of tires/foam types.
RC-TEC has produced the extremely soft foam tires in accordance to the CRC specs.
But be careful they are really extremely soft - make the double face tape wet before you put the tires on - do a "dry test" without tape first to get a feeling ...
If you've put them on precisely you don't need a truener.
Cheers,
Jo

We are in the process of redesigning the RadZ.
Hopefully they will be available later this spring - as some other new interesting products.

For the guys that buys the foams and trues them, I was wondering what diameter do you guys start with? Rollout?
Thanks.
EDIT - I'm using Atomic's dish rims.

Wow, .6 per lap faster. Unreal laptimes and speed!
The thing is quick and planted! I chose front soft med and rear soft compound and it was just perfect on my local track.
