please help me decide - racer or palm lite?

Hi everybody. I just purchased a micro rs4 2 weeks ago and spent a little over $200 for the car and electronics to just run it around the apartment. After seeing these mini z's, I am very interested in them because of the ability to place 1:24 bodies on them (with modification). My needs are simple, just to mess around at home or at work. I am not going to be racing or upgrading, just driving it around. Do you guys/gals think that I should just dish out the extra cash and just get the racer, or just go with the cheaper lite? thank for any responses.

Well I'd go for the proportional control of the "real thing". Even if it is a toy. I haven't tried the lite but I have had some RC toys when I was a kid. Non proportional bites. :P
Btw. what's the problem in mounting custom bodies to a micro?
(isn't that 1:24?)

Go for the Mini-Z Racer! It's far more addictive! If you get the Lite it will just be a "gateway" car that leads to more hardcore gear e.g. the Racer!

I say find a hobby store that has them, and try their floor model... of each one. The LITE is more of a desk toy display model, and if you have any intent on maybe going to a track just once, you will wish u had the Z. But if you get the Lite for under 35$, then it will be just like buying 35$ in parts for your Mini-Z, cuz of the motor etc.. as I have said in 2 other posts so I wont list it again .

I have all 3 the f-1, reg mini z, and the lite.
From my viewpoint if you have the cash AVOID the lite.

I like the f-1 best for performance RIGHT out of the box

My viper mini for most play around driveing and racing and being able to hop it up.

The lite for my kids of if I break my others I go to it(which happens alot to me)....

Just my 2 cents

thanks for everyone's responses. I think I will get the lite and a civic sir model from Hobbylink Japan. It'll come out to about $41 + shipping. If it ends up sitting in my closet after a month, then oh well. But if I like it and want more performance and quality, I'll end up getting the mini z locally since it is offered around here, and just use the lite for parts like some have suggested. thanks again for the info and help!

from HLJ? Isnt their shipping like 40$ ? And remember they dont tell you how much the shipping is till you pay for the item and wont let u cancel (from what I heard).

If this is the case that Lite is going to gost 80$. your paying same for shipping as the product -- parts alone would be far cheaper. Like I said dont pay more then 35$ (+local tax/shipping).

You gota find some one that shipped a crate of them, so the shipping is far less, thus their resale is less. (ask Mini-Z to get a crate, if he can sell them for 30 or so I "might" buy one for some one...).

well, just going by their "estimated" shipping charges.... 1 mini z lite ($32 usd) and 1 civic sir model ($11 usd) will cost $10 to ship to the US in 5-9 days via UPS. total comes out to be around $50 for everything shipped. do you guys think this sounds fair? I never had anything shipped to me from another country.

Shipping costs

Frogg,

As you don't have your location on your posts, we have zero idea where it's being shipped from, or to..
Perhaps you'd like to clarify that mystery

Which one?

Definately go the Mini Z racer over the others. If you can get your hand on a Colt like me (read my forum in the new things section), go the Colt. It is faster and more stable and already comes semi modified and cheaper compared to the Mini Z.
