Ok guys here goes the most noobish question- how do I lock the diff properly?
Next, after taking 1 apart I found that all the little gears have busted teeth; will this affect the locking procedure or can I still lock it and forget about replacing the inner gears?
If you decide to permanently lock the stock diff, one very easy way to do it is simply apply super glue to where the dog-bone holder and the diff body meets.
Just a small drop of it, and make sure it didn't go to the cup itself or the gears. Don't worry about the inside broken spider gears, they won't be functioning when the diff is locked.
