new Venom racing Monster mini check it out

Check out the new mini MT from Venom. Pretty bad ass, out of box does around 7Mph or so, with mod motor and 7cell battery, speeds hit 21Mph. Let me know what you guys think and check out the video also.

HERE IS THE VIDEO

Venom Racing's Mini Giant

BigT A nice find...
This baby hasn't even been mentioned on YourMicro.com yet. You're on the ball!

Venom are better known for their RC measuring equipment, like speedometers and temprature guages.

It's a neat little truck. It's RTR too..
Scale is 1:20th. Venom don't stipulate the standard motor size, but I assume it's a 280, as they offer a 370 (same as 300) motor upgrade.
I have to admire the "Non Polarity Battery System" that allows the novice user to fit the AA cells in any orientation without the risk of a short circuit.
The video is great too, they look quite tough.
Here's a link to the Venom Racing page:
http://www.venom-racing.com/product/mgmt/index.htm

The price at $179 for an RTR isn't bad. I guess it's competing against Tamiya's TLT-1 Rockbuster which is 1/18th scale, priced about the same but excludes (540 size) motor, electronics and needs assembling.

Kinda hard to tell, but what is that body made of Lexan or some hard plastic? Also what scale is it, that is hard to tell from the video?

Now that's much more like it! Tamiya really dropped the ball with that silly looking and fragile TLT thing. I'll have to look up the specs on it, may be small enough for the garage, but probably still better off outdoors like the Tamiya.

It/s 1/20th scale.
Mostly nylon/plastic construction

As for the TLT-1 from Tamiya, it's far from "fragile"
Look at the TLT-1 Thread in YourMico, the handfull of Member that own them reckon they're pretty solid. Sure it looks silly with that alloy chassis, but there is one YM Member (Jade's Dad) who did an excellent job of modifying the TLT-1 chassis and it looks awesome.

Ya, I remember that thread but there was no way to buy the A-tech here. I'm glad Venom has decided to import and distribute it, looks much better and much smaller than that Tamiya TLT, (Total Loser Truck? ). Many R/C products are just rebadged foreign products, this is nothing new, in fact it's often done with full size cars!

I think I will wait until I hear from someone that has one as to how well they perform and how durable they are before I buy one. Also, I'm concerned about parts availability. That is one thing Tamiya has over just about anybody, is a very wide and effective parts distribution network. I can't beleive the Kyosho Mini-Monster has been out for two months you still can't buy replacement parts.

So true about parts availibility.

What good is any of them without a supply of parts.

As a r/c track owner this is of most importance.

We are considering the venom for racing but need parts!
