The biggest difference it made was that the rear end tends to chatter a lot more now, especially under power in a turn. Lap times are very good in the 94 mm configuration but the car does not handle as well at it did in the old, 98 mm setup with the disk damper and shock.

I wonder if you can run a 94mm body with that setup.

Thinking about it a little more though, 12K KV is crazy and will probably be quite a handful on small-medium club RCP layouts. I'll bet many of us will find ourselves turning the throttle way down to improve the driveability, but Kyosho has surprised me in the past with how well limited edition cars are dialed out of the box so who knows Sure looks cool though:

I want one - but a special color chassis should have been part of the kit.

no drilled motor can... this is perhaps the biggest disappointment of them all with kyosho motors. They fancy themselves a 'premiere' brand thus closed system it seems. it really is to their detriment.

MA-020 VE SP. Been a while since we've seen an SP AWD chassis It's too bad it doesn't come in a special color though.

i agree. it would have made it more special or unique if in a new color vs. just a hopped up version.

also, why not include the same VE pro motor the MR-03 limited chassis gets?

I have the MA-020VE PRO.

Atm it's very fun to drive...and except the included gyro..not really much difference with this SP.

Heat, and probably because the stock drivetrain could never handle it. The diffs will shred, the pinions will melt onto the motor shaft, and the driveshafts will twist into pretzels. I'd think at minimum you'd need either the hard gear diffs or ball diffs and the alloy driveshafts to handle that kind of horsepower, but it would be friggin epic and probably extremely competitive when set up properly. The MA-020 is a very fast car and is more competitive than 2WD on technical tracks IMO.

Wonder why they don't just include the buggy hardened diffs on the VE AWD chassis by default, and the alloy driveshafts on the SP cars as another added bonus. I guess its all to keep the price down but Kyosho has slacked off on content on their special edition cars and it's lame. Even their latest special color chassis (the blue JSCC chassis) only came with a ball diff and bearings. Back in the day, you'd get the diff and bearings but also kingpins, shims, springs, oil shock, t plates, damper plate and wheel nuts. The cars were dialed out of the box!

Loaded with the dynamic combination of MHS (MINI-Z Hybrid Spread Spectrum) and Xspeed VE brushless motor, the MA-020VE PRO released in November 2015 relaunches as an SP chassis set including the previously optional motor cooling system to be the fastest MINI-Z in history. Loaded with the same lightning fast 8500KV Xspeed VE brushless motor power source as the MA-020VE PRO, the SP Chassis Set is also equipped with an aluminum motor sleeve and motor cover to control heat and extract every drop of power from the brushless motor. The motor sleeve and motor cover are anodized in the premium "SP" color, while the normally grey main chassis is anodized in intimidating black. Also, in what has become a must-have racing item, the SP chassis set includes a gyro unit set as standard. Packed with high-performance optional parts, the MA-020VE PRO SP Chassis Set is a base chassis built ready for racing battle. As with the MA-020VE PRO, the SP Chassis Set is compatible with existing ASF2.4GHz systems. As transmitter setting is automatically done when pairing, KT-18 and KO PROPO EX-1 transmitters can also be used.
noted to include:

It might be okay with the 8500 KV brushless if you don't hit the wall too often, but I suspect this car will be a little fragile until the diffs and driveshafts are upgraded.
