Is that an un-insulated turbo I see there...
Hope nothing conductive gets thrown inside his bodywork....
Nice idea about the fan though

here's a close up picture...

it's connected to the armature and turns when you gas the motor... it forces air back into the motor theoretically keeping it cooler... what do you think? works?

Theoretically is right...
It does generate airflow, maybe if it were in a duct it would really cool the armature.

Herman,

Nice catch there man!
It's a nice idea and I see it's made from an armature plate.
I reckon it must offer some form of airflow, but exactly how effective it is, is anyone's guess.
Perhaps it psycological, like a placebo

As for the uninsultated Turbo, well I like the idea, but I wouldn't endorse or practise it!

Herman, nice pics

Airflow?

How are the fan working out? And is't drawing the air out or pushing it in to the motor can? If it push, dont u get a lot of dust in the can?

i think his idea was to push the air in to cool the motor... i haven't asked him if it gathers a lot of dust... we run them at the track and they sweep them regularly... www.connecticutspeedway.com i'm shameless, shameless for this plug...

pictures i took at the track will be posted soon i hope...
