NP Larry,

People who races with me on a weekly base knows I never touch or practice with my miniZ car. Even though the race track is 2 seconds away. . I was given an opportunity to try some new tires and out of respect to that person. I've made an exception to give them a shot. After the first battery pack I could not stop driving the car. Pack after pack day after day my smile was getting bigger. . As you all know MHS just change back to RCP. People who dose not know we ran foam tires with CRC carpet. Carpet/foam setup was 1 sec faster then the RCP/rubber. Now the KS PN rubber its less then half

To think I was going to buy some whitebodies today Well your secret is out I figured the body wasn't the only factor. Hopefully it wont require 2-3 sets of rears for a night.

With the new compounds not being numbered what is the closest to PN 6 treaded rears and PN 15 slick fronts?

I asked this question on FB on the PN Racing page. the soft and super soft for the back, firm is what is closest to the 15's with maybe slightly more front grip from what I was told.

I ordered the firm and some of the medium to test myself. I'm want to see about the traction and longevity.

let us know if you get them and try them out what you think. I'll do the same.

at the current pricing, looking for these selections to be narrowed down before i make any purchases i prefer not to dump money into 'testing' when i can learn from experience. i'm in no rush to be a beta tester or have the need to be early adopter for anything really. i'm a fairly patient person always willing to wait for feedback on better parts. these sound promising so hoping feedback continues to be good.

not a bad deal at all and probably the first manufacturer to ever offer a package like this. kudo's to PN.

I would think that the main concern would be that subsequent batches have the same consistency and quality as the initial run unlike some earlier offerings. Though these seem promising I am still a bit skeptical as I have kept some sealed bags of biodegraded goo to remind me not to buy anymore.

consistency will be key to any tire offering. doesn't mean anything if you not able to buy the same tire over and over. there is a reason you don't see GPM on every car anymore... i'm hoping that the new compounds or chemistry will enable more consistency from PN as well. no real news on what the compound or chemistry is yet but the limited reports sound favorable for sure.

So far we have tested the soft rear and firm fronts as the ss rear were not available last week. The results were very promisig. Rear tires lasted the whole race night and then some when before we had to use 1-2 pairs of 6rears and a pair of 5 rears (depending on conditions) just to get through the night. The price increase is worth it but I am skeptical about the makeup of the tires. When trued they turn to gray and the powder is unlike the rubber powder we are used to. From what I have read about urethane these tires seem very simmilar to urethane slot tires.

As for simmilarity, they aren't comparable to kyosho or previuos pn. The soft rears already produce a very signifigant increase in rear grip and the firm front put the car on the edge. If you have people running KS tires against non-KS tires the people with the KS tires will have a signifigant advantage. The fronts have som much more grip than anything else it is not really close and the rears have the same increase in grip.

After one week of testing some people found noticable increases in lap times but I struggled with traction roll and other issues that while not a direct result of the new tires, the increased front grip put it over the edge. It seems these tires are the go to for the future but I don't think anything softer than the firm in the front will be useful. If you are running stock you can probably get away with truing the fronts to 22.5 but 22.0 should really be the starting point. However the longevity means that the fronts will last you at least on race day. If you try and run ks rears with 15 fronts the car will push badly and if you try and run k30 fronts than i doubt the car will turn at all. In reality I tried the KS rears with PN 15 and if you are going to run KS rears than you have to run KS fronts too in order to get a decent balance.

does the effects of truing have any determent to performance? i'm OK with an odd color change but not if it alters the performance.

No the color change has nothing to do with performance, in fact you pretty much have to true the fronts not to flip but the dust that comes from the tire is odd. I just think that the makeup of the tire might have some urethane because of these charecteristics.

The color is just different...Truing works fine. Like Devin said...soft/super soft rear to start. Firm fronts to start.
