The non-oil shocks have no rebound control so they don't work as well as oil-filled shocks. A spring with no dampening will return almost the full ammount of energy that it received while being compressed, this means that your suspension will rebound like a pogo stick. The oil absorbs some of the rebound energy and makes your suspension less "bouncy"
I have the triple oil GPM setup on its way, I'll let you know how it is but since the cars are so damn small it may not make a big difference. The spring preload IS adjustable on the oil shocks so you don't need to buy (as many) different springs when you want to change your setup.
