Well, with a heavy heart that I am letting the few of you know that NCRC Racing will no longer be in existence by the end of February. This includes us NOT doing the ALS Charity Race in October.
There are a lot of factors playing into this and we’d rather go out on a high note from last year’s event.
Soo….we have divested our track pieces and equipment between a local county supported father/son activity as well as selling off the remainder to Mike Keely, Matt Ward and Mimi.
Only a couple of us now have our MiniZ’s to race and I know that when the time comes around this fall we will feel a little bit empty. Hopefully you will see some of us around the local racing scene.
Yes, this is sad news but after some long discussions it is the right thing for our club.
Aww, sorry to hear that R! My daughter learned to read from my NCRC shirt! When she was ~18 months she pointed at the C and said "C"! We were always extremely happy to support the ALS race and it's too bad we won't get an opportunity to do so again this year...
Sad to hear Glad I "officially" ()won the 1/18th class last year. Hopefully someone else can pick up the slack and continue to host the ALS race, was always a great time.

Very sad news indeed, but lets hope we can come up with other big races to pull everyone together from near and far at least once a year. i missed this year's ALS, so this announcement makes me wish that i didn't so much more.
Russ,
This is really sad news, when it was such a great cause. I am so sorry that I did not get the chance to take part in such a wonderfull event.
All the hard work that you guys put into the event will trully be missed.
Good luck in all your future endeavors.

"Don't back up, Don't back down....Full throttle, Wide open"
I was looking back at this blog and realized that many of you think the ALS Race is gone. NOT TRUE.
NCRC Racing is gone but the ALS Charity Race LIVES ON. Mimi and Gary Thomas will be taking the baton and I will be working with them to get things going. Date has not been set yet, but I would imagine that they would make it loud and clear when it is.
Awesome... Big bucket of coolness! Let me be the first to suggest a box stock class for the next ALS Race.
I don't think very many people own box stock cars?
I will most likely be the one contacting Mimi about this race. This race will be my welcome back to Mini-Z's after the nitro season is up. Does anyone have any thoughts of having it early in Nov. this year? What are the classes we should run? If we have it at Mimi's it will most likely be a one day event. We could set the track up on Friday and race on Sat. Please let me know your thoughts. Russ, do you think your guy will be willing to call the races again? Thanks MK

Ok, bearings and rubber tires (of preferred durometer), but you must run stock plastic wheels and stock plastic kyosho RTR gear only... also, un-fetted boards and stock motors.
Never seen this done at an event before... just curious to see how many would be into it. I'm sure many of us have a box of stripped off stock plastic laying around collecting dust.
