Let's schedule a big race

So it was brought up to me today that some out of Towner's would like to see us put on a big race. I would like to hear from everyone your thoughts on what to run and when to have the race. Please let me know what you are thinking. Thanks MK

Something for everyone, 90mm, stock and mod? It’s a mixed bag with different experiences so more similar hfay and mod classes.

Unless interested in a spec race similar to those we’ve done in the past? Pick a body?

What is the tolerance level for an endurance race? Zround has new team features we’ve never tried out.

So it is looking like the guys are saying March 23rd for a Friday open practice and the race on Saturday the 24th. Those three classes sound good Ray. Two 5 minute heats and then 10 minute mains.

Big race

Hey Mike. I would be interested in coming on down and racing with you guys. I'm still in the middle of working details of still having racing in New Jersey. But meanwhile give me full details of the three classes you guys are going to run. Looking forward to talking to everyone.

I don't have any graphics yet for modified class but it's essentially an unlimited/outlaw class in which any 1/28 scale chassis, electronics, battery source is welcome. I'll see if I can't make something for a more formal posting by Gary/Mike.

Gary and I have been talking about setting up a big race in Oct, 2019. We have not set up the true date yet. We would like to hear from the clubs in the area on your thoughts for the best date. We will run on the rough side of the RCP.

We have a local Chic'fila that will be sponsoring the race. It will be held in a local church here close to our track. The plan is to make it a 5L size track.

Looking to have three classes: All classes must use non-silicone rubber tires. No traction compounds allowed. You will see below that we are trying something new to open up the rules to allow any hop-ups and any manufactures brand of cars in the Mod classes.

1) Pro Stock. You have to run a kyosho chassis, use a 3500 or 70 turn motor, use 4 AAA, no Lexan bodies. Use all the aluminum and aftermarket parts you want to run!

2) 2WD Mod. If you run 2'c lipo batteries you can only use a 3500 motor. If you use 4 AAA's you have to run a 5500 or faster motor.

3) 4WD Mod. Same battery rules as the 2WD class.

2 rounds of 5 minute qualifying and 8 minute mains.

Tell us what you think

So Gary had a chance to talk to some guys last weekend. It sounds like the race will be ran a the normal spot/track. What are your thoughts on the classes I posted? I have heard that the word is that the pro stock class will be a Kyosho or PN chassis class.
