Open Touring Questions

Random questions after looking over the rules:

1. Is there a minimum weight rule? (Jon's setup post indicates he added weight?)

2. Are lexan bodies legal? (I know it says pan car body ok, but wasn't sure if all pan cars are lexan)

3. Are aftermarket chassis' legal?

Thanks,

BlackBerry

I dont the rules....but I know Pan car bodies...
original pan car bodies were polystryene (made by PN and Atomic)
newest style pan car body (PN) is Lexan. You can find pan car bodies in both materials......

For club race, the general consent are:

1) no min weight limit

2) no pan car body, only because pan car body tends to go under other's car and damage other's spur gear.

3) after market chassis is ok

There aren't any strict rules besides the use of rubber tires. Shawn is always willing to listen to the racer's opinions, so if you want to propose anything and can get enough people onboard, we can do it. On the other hand, if you do something that the majority of racers aren't ok with (like running a matte black body... yeah I've done that ), you will also be told so.

The minimum weight rule was only applicable to the MC3 Fall Classic race, which followed the PN rules since it was sponsored by PN.

Is this one of the "racer suggested" rule? because on the website it says otherwise, confused. Rules (copied from MC3 site):

"Mod Class

For Mod class, you can use any motor but must use rubber tires. Li-Fe cells okay. Pan Car body okay."

Thanks for clearing that up Jon. Why have you left the weight in since the PN race?

that's b/c Jon beats us with or without the extra weight he's a great driver

Blackberry, you have a lot of questions. just get a car and some tires and run some laps. mod the car part by part so you'll know what each part is doing for you and you can tune easier that way. parts that work for one driver may not work well for another cause everyone drives differently. at the track, anyone you ask will help you out. very friendly guys here
