Kyosho Comic Racer

if you have not seen this yet, there is a morphed scale scubby STI body kit for the buggy. it actually doesn't look all that bad really. these were shown at the Shizuoka 2013 show.

images posted on big squird rc. this has been reposted on kyoshosan as well other rc sites.

And what looks to be a Toyota 86 body in the works in the background.

it will be interesting to see what other bodies they release for this. frankly i'm glad to see them utilizing the buggy platform for more things. now if i could just get them to the the JDSF armored vehicle...

shocked then haven't come up with a SCT body kit though considering the current popularity.

I have always felt the buggy chassis was a great platform. And I'm surprised no one has started making upgrades other than aluminum versions of the stock parts. I think this chassis with the right parts would be a very good racer, something the awd never seemed to be

I have the feeling that some are just waiting for the brushless version of the buggy.

I still don't understand why they haven't tried a short-course. Was the Losi considered a failure? when I first saw the video of this, I SWORE my first thought was "Kyosho is licensing the Losi Micro Rally in Japan?"

i have and will continue to contend that the buggy should have been the first brushless kit sold. there is simply less history to get in the way and deserves the speed more. when the VE buggy is released (we all know it will be) i'll just upgrade mine at that point. it will still be cheaper to upgrade than buy new provided they don't change more than the board and motor mount/motor.

more body variations for the buggy.

Personally I'm more interested in 2WD versions like Scorpion, Ultima, Tomahawk, and more vintage bodies like Optima Mid, Javelin, Rocky and so on... There are gifted people who did Avante, Boomerang, Hornet versions with success.
Short Course and other contemporary stuff doesn't fit my bill
I don't get comic racers neither.
There were comic racers in the 80s with Wild Willy, Honda City wheeler, etc. but they never were durable public successes

seen it in person and the thing has great corner speed with those x-power foams. The kyosho foams are good too but with only one compound per set it is hard to get the car to have the same steering but is mellower and easier to drive.

Sorry for bumping a slightly older thread, but I thought it would be better than to start a new one on the same thing..

I just orderd myself a Comic racer yesterday I found it was time for me to join the '2.4Ghz club' with a brand new car as my MR02 is only 27Mhz and it's 2014 after all, so 27Mhz doesn't cut it anymore :P

Anyway, I was wondering if there are already some aftermarket bodies for the car? I've seen the Atomic(?) Pan car style body for the Mini-Z buggy, but that one requires the on-road conversion set. So I'm not sure if it'll fit the stock Comic racer with it's body posts.

Can't wait for it to arrive, haven't raced Mini-Z's for a while now...

the atomic conversion set just uses body posts like the kyosho but they are in a slightly different location that stock so it would probably work you would just need to mark some new hole locations on the body.

Question

But the conversion set also includes shocktowers and different shocks, those seem, at least in the pictures, to be a different size, muck lower than the stock shocktowers to fit the lower pan car body...
