You have enough people to have a Mini-Z race there? I'm in SLC and was slightly tempted until I found Riverton on a map. Wouldn't want to chance those roads during the winter.

Last year we had about 20 entries. We’re hoping for a few more this year.
Lunch will be provided. We didn’t mention lunch on the flyer.
You’re looking at a 4-5 hour drive from SLC. We race 10th scale off-road at Intermountain R/C Raceway in Magna every now and then. The roads are usually in good shape, but you’ve got to watch those mountain passes. You never know when the weather can turn on you.
Are there any local Mini-Z races in SLC? There doesn’t seem to be many races in our region. The only other place I know of is Dapco Hobbies in Pocatello, ID.

R/C racing in general is pretty pathetic here. We won't even be having a TCS race this year. Looks like the only R/C event we'll be having here is the drag racing at the Autorama at the end of March. Well, they may be having the April Fools race at IR but I'm not a 1/10 off road racer. I've heard the racing at IR has even gone downhill, very low turnout. I've only gone there on practice nights a couple times with my Stampede. When the were doing on road I ran nearly a full season there, but it got to be quite obvious that the race director just didn't care anymore and the quality of the racing went downhill, and I didn't even bother to go to their championship race, a race they didn't even promote and didn't decide on a date until a couple weeks before. That's the way things have gone here. The only Z racing is my buddies and I in my garage.
I think I'll pass on a road trip to Wyoming during the winter this year, but if you have an event during the summer I'll try and talk my buddies into it.

I’ll let you know if we host a summer Mini-Z race. During the warm months we usually focus on outdoor racing at the park, but you never know. Our upcoming events will be posted at www.wyomingmodelerspark.com.

Looks like you have a nice facility. I don't suppose you have a Stampede class for the off road? I don't suppose you do any 1/10 on road?

Sorry to butt in, but I recently moved from Provo. If you looking for 1/10 on-road racing, Spooky's RC in Pleasant Grove races outdoors when the weather is nice. They also race 1/18th on their in door track all year long.
I raced both electric and nitro 1/10 sedan during the summer. I moved to New Mexico in November, and they were racing up until I left. If your interested, I can give you the phone number, I have their card around here somewhere....

We haven’t had a Stampede class. I’m sure we could find a class you could run in.
We’re hoping to break ground this spring on our on-road track. It’s going to be a banked oval with a road course in the middle.

Thanks for the Utah track info. Do they have any Mini-Z races or is it all 18th scale?

Vmaxx - I know about Spooky's, but I have no 1/18 car adn am not real interested in getting one, and am not real interested in getting a stadium truck or buggy for off-road. I have my Stampede and am building a Clod Buster, and that's all I really want for off road I have plenty invested in the track for our garage Mini-Z racing and in my Mini-Z's and OL's as well, don't really have the time and money for more right now. Oh, wait, is the outdoor racing at Spooky's onroad or offroad?
Wyo - They don't race Z's there. I'll look forward to your on road track being built, if you have any big events during the summer I'll defintely consider making the trip. I actually have an RC10L, but not sure I'd want to invest the money on several sets of foams for a day of racing oval on pavement. I bought it for drag racing. What I'd really like to get into is dirt oval, that would be fun, and not real expensive since you use rubber tires for it. I currently have two on road cars, nothing fancy though. A Tamiya TL-01 and a Tamiya F201. I'll take a stab at stock sedan with the TL-01, doubt I'd be real competitive though.

The outdoor racing is on-road. We had a few guys that come regularly from Bountiful and Salt lake. In fact, a couple guys from HRP were always there woopin' us.

I guess I'll have to look into that this summer. They haven't done a real good job of promoting it apparently.

Nope. I do my best to stay away from CA, especially Southern CA. Going to RCX is slightly tempting, but I have better uses for my money and time. If they held it in Vegas I'd probably go.
