Looking to mod out the wazoo, but know very little.
I have a new Overland coming soon, the Land Rover in silver. being prone to dumping cash into things to make them cooler I have a plan, and my plan is to mod this thing silly. I have already read all the posts on this forum a few pages deep, but I still have some questions. I plan on abusing this thing like crazy.
The following pieces I plan to buy... if anyone suggests against this then let me know why, or what to do as an alternative:
GPM Alloy and Delrin Main Gear for Overland (10-34T) - 1PC
GPM Alloy Battery Heat Sink for Overland - 2PCS
GPM Alloy Front Damper Mount for Overland - 1PC
GPM Alloy Rear Damper Mount for Overland (Medium - Land Cruiser) - 1PC - Silver
GPM Alloy Front Knuckle Set for Overland - 2PCS
GPM Alloy Motor Heat Sink for Overland
GPM Alloy Mount for Main Gear for Overland
GPM Alloy Steering Plate for Overland (0°)
GPM Delrin Ball Diff for Overland - Silver
Kyosho Front Oil Shock for Overland - 2PCS
Kyosho Rear Oil Shock for Overland - 2PCS
Kyosho High Grip MT Tires for Overland - 4PCS
Kyosho Overland Wheel Set - land Cruiser - Chrome
Kyosho Under Guard for Overland - Chrome
I was looking at the:
NeoPower Magnet - 4PCS
But Im not sure exactly what these would do for me, except that a thread 5 pages back or so said they were great. Opinions desired.
I also read that for a better motor to buy the Z-130-A-BB motor, but thats not available anymore, what is available is the:
Mini-ZRacer.com Custom Ball Bearing Motor Z-130-A-BB-SE Special Edition
Which is slightly different, I just want to make sure this will work.
Specifically it was recommended to buy replacement bearings, but there are bearings from Eagly, Kyosho, MZR, Powerline, RCRM, Squat and TopCad. Which of these is apropriate, as the Overland is not mentioned with any of them.
Also, i asuume the:
Squat Alloy Nylon Nut Set (Silver) - 4PCSwill work on the Overland, but was not sure. Again, feedback is appreciated.
Finally I was looking at:
Kyosho Stainless King Pin Set for Overland
Kyosho Stainless Suspension Shaft Set for Overland
But was not sure these were necessary at all, having been able to find basically nothing about them on the forums...
I'd also like 11mm alloy tires and rims, and the silver alloy front box but those are not sold on this site
Money isn't really my issue, I just want to build an ass kicking little model here that I can have fun with. Also, how difficult are these components, especially the motor, to replace. If I get some feedback soon I'll order all of these things from the shop and hopefully get them about the time I get my car next week.
Thanks everyone!

basically your set up will match what i had.
dont buy the ball diff unless you plan on racing since it dont have teh diff-locking feature.
and dont buy the kyosho chrome under gaurd cause its plastic painted chrome. instead get the gpm one that is actually alloy....
the wheel nuts will fit. they are the same as teh normal miniz.
and get teh stainless, king pins and suspension shafts. this makes turning smoother with the kpins and smoother suspension arm travel with the susp.pins.

This is a must have!!!
My friend's and mine both broke the left steering knuckle. We thought the design of knuckles are bad, it breaks easily.

fet last if you dont put to much stress on the truck i made both my overlands into the monster trucks and blew the fets in both thats why i dont have the OL anymore.
the motor clip comes off and you unscrew the 2 screws holding the motor wires on the chasis to switch it out....no probs there.
i used topcad bearings.......get any kind other then topcad they only stayed good for about 2 weeks

Okay, then i'll try the:
Mini-ZRacer.com Racing Dry Bearing Set - 7PCS
since they are the only ones this store stocks, I guess they'll have to do
And the store does not have in:
GPM Alloy and Delrin Main Gear for Overland (10-34T) - 1PC
GPM Alloy Battery Heat Sink for Overland - 2PCS
GPM Alloy Front Knuckle Set for Overland - 2PCS
GPM Alloy Under Guard for Overland
which is a bummer because the Knuckle Set is a needed component according to a pile of posts on this forum...

Oh yea?
2GStrat,
Well, talking about that person, who's trading name I will not mention, I am undergoing a gripe with them now.
I bought two bearing sets for my Overlands - they do already have bearings, but I always keep spares.
I bought them in March and still have not arrived.
She tells me she is "checking" with the Post Office, but still no resolve!
They have lost a customer...

Mini-Z.Junk,
You will find out that Overlands need upgrading.
They do break in certain places, the Idler Gear (Between the diff and motor gears) is fragile. They last a lot longer if you install bearings. The GPM Delrin gear is the solution.
Overlands need bearings too, they run a lot smoother once bearings are fitted to the wheels and rear axle.

he is planning to buy all hopup opions just because he want a ultimate car but you must not buy all opion at one you must find out which you need more traction, then you can see what the does enz. that also normal for rc riding do you get it?
or im i wrong ??? and is this not true for mini -z
