Atomic F1 Diff + 64 pitch set

HI

When using the 64 pitch diff kit on Kyosho Diffs, you have to modify the Kyosho diff a little, but if I have Atomic F1 Diff, will this 64 pitch kit fit on without and mods?

Thanks

Good question. I have an ATM F1 diff on the way. I can tell you with the MR-02 ATM diffs, no modification is needed to use PN 64p spurs. Haven't tried the ATM 64p spurs.

I'm sure EMU will chime in and enlighted us.

I only modify the spur itself, so that it does not rub on the tire. I shave the lip a little, the teeth should be towards the mount, and lip (now removed), should be towards the tire. I also glue the edges of the tire to the wheel and tape the centers to the flat part of the wheel so there is no ballooning.

The diff needs no modification for clearance of the bearing. It is the same as the non lightweight MR02 diff parts. The diff also has D cut rings and plates, so they wont need to be glued like the Kyosho rings do.

Thanks for this, I am not so sure what you mean by the spur teeth pointing towards the mount, am sure it will make sense when I look at it tonight.

My biggest problem with diffs, is taking that e/c clip off on the left side, its a bugger!

If you look at the spur, the teeth are a little offset to one side... and there is a lip on the other. This is not the case with the Reflex or PN Limited Slip spurs, but all other spurs are this way.

When you remove the e clip, be sure to loosen the adjustment nut first... Makes it a whole lot easier

I bought the pn spur kit, it did have a lip like you mentioned, but us thinner than the kyosho so it doe snot appear to be rubbing, I will test out later today. Thanks for the tip, changed the diff and the mesh with the 64 pitch is a lot better

Eugene. My ATM F1 diff is here and getting ready to replace the spur with a PN 64p. Any recommendations on which size spur to use?

Since the stock spur is a 46t, I usually start with a 54t for faster motors (high RPM) with smaller pinions, and may go smaller on the spur/larger pinion with slower motors. I feel that the F1 mounts have more limited adjustability for the motor, so you may want to try different pinion/spur combos to keep the gearing close to where you want it with the right motor position.
