DOW is fully willing and able to host a regional again but I haven't heard anything from Phil in a while. We all want to make the trip to Vegas this year, but I think a trip to Canada to qualify is just too much for all our budgets here. (the passport being a big chunk of that)
Seems like the Diablo Sandwich run went pretty well too... I'd drive there for a Regional. Then there is the DC crew too, I think they're due for one of there own as well.

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago
http://minizracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28714
After not getting a response for a while I went ahead and gave Phillip a call. He said he was working out the details, but the problem was findning a location (and people) to host that had the space and proper RCP to set up the track they want the regionals run on.
Does DOW have the proper RCP to create the posted layout? If you do please get in touch with Phillip again and remind him of that He said PA was a possible spot for it. I wonder if he was thinking of you while mentioning that. PA would be even better for me than NY.
Also as far as the Diablo in NC, it did go well, but I dont if the guys who organized it would be willing to do somehting like this (Im going to PM a link to this thread though ). Get them a few more fun run events under their belts, and I think we'll be able to talk them into one in the next year or so I dont know that they have all the special parts for the layout, but the room we ran in was definatly big enough

If PN decided to hold an east coast regional in PA that would be great news for us in DC.. Here in DC we have a good amount of racer's that might be able to attend this race.. Another good reason to have this event in PA is there are a lot of people that run with us in DC that come down from Maryland to race with us.. Since Maryland is pretty close to PA I'm sure we could get a lot of racer's from there to participate in this event as well... Also most of the racers in ou're club have never gotten the chance to run at a big regional event.. This would be the perfect opportunity for us to experience that...

I am willing to hold the event again, I have most of the track to do it but not all. We are smack in the middle of NYC and DC... but hardly anyone showed at the last regional we had and that may be why Phil hasn't asked about us running another one this year. We have an amazing facility at the Mushroom Bowl, and had an excellent time last year doing it, but with only 18 racers competing (and the majority of that number being my crew), it just makes me wary of holding one again only to have hardly anyone show. I was kinda hoping the NYC crew (other than Willy, Sai, Roland & Bennett, who's presence is always appreciated!) would make a caravan down to our last one or something, but it just didn't happen. Arch was the only one to show from DC... sooooo.... sorry, guess I am whining here a bit. Oh well... no biggie!
I'd be happy to host another event, but my main reason for posting is to basically say that I would like to see someone else get a shot at it so they can use it to promote their club too.

Thank you for the responses. Sorry, I don't know who crazyracer is, but they are talking like they know something is in the works. At any rate, I agree with imxlr8ed, Mushroom Bowl or another club hosting it, sounds good, just would like to have some advanced warning. I cleared October so I could go to Vegas to the PNWC, because every year it's in October, and now I can't go because I pushed everything to November, I really enjoy racing and this scale as a hobby, but it may be the end for me, time is not a issue but it's much, much too difficult to make it work and find a place to race. It's zapping my enthusiasum and becoming unenjoyable.
Sorry about the rant, just been very frustrating enjoying something as much as I do this hobby and trying to make it work, doesn't seem like it should be so hard.

Well... looks like we're going to try again this year as well! We are trying to determine a date and various other specifics right now, but it seems like we are going to get this one.
We are hoping to hold it sometime in September so everyone has plenty of time to plan for it. I've attached our previous regional thread so you can get an idea of where the Mushroom Bowl is located, and maybe see what it's like there.

Cool, we'll see you there!
When I was checking times to get down to the Diablo Run, it was around 8 1/2 hours from my door to there, so you're probably looking at around 7 hours up to the Bowl. I know when we made the trip up to PN 2006WC in CT. it was around 8 hours... so yeah, we are very central to the majority of the MiniZ communities on the East Coast.
Here's Sai's vid from the last one:

Im a little south of the Diablo. It was about a 3 hour ride for me to get there I checked the mapquest in your thread to the Mushroom Bowl, and it showed 9.5 hours. Mapquest is usually a little slower than I drive, so I should be able to make it in 9 or less.
BTW, I hope you guys get enough folks to run stock class AWD and 2wd.
