MZW-301 (2,4 GHz) & Xspeed MZW-08

Hi everybody,
donīt you now what difference is between Kyosho engines
"MZW-301 Xspeed Mini-Z V 2.4GHz, ICS" and "MZW-08" ?
Is the first one really better designed for 2,4 GHz use then the second one ?
Visually are strictly the same...

I've been wondering the same. My assumption is that the 2.4ghz boards have stacked 3010 fets so they can handle a hotter motor. Perhaps it is a faster motor with less winds?

I have both engines at home, but MZW-301 recently, only few days. Visually are strictly the same including sticker. Behaviour in the car seems to be the same, also by ICS programming it seems to be common. But my MZW-301 is not yet enough run to do conclusions...

Different polyswitch

My numbers may be a little off but the 2.4ghz version of the x-speed motors has a 3.5 amp polyswitch. The non-2.4ghz motor with a polyswitch will trip at 2.5 amps. There's also a version without a polyswitch.

I have taken all of them apart and they all have the same armature.

do they have the same number of winds/turns? and do the wires look the same on each armature?

I haven't unwound them

The wire gauge and color is the same. Number of plates and armature length is the same. Winding volume is also the same. From visual inspection I am confident enough to say that that are all the same.

I don't notice any difference between them when driving, and I've never tripped either polyswitch 2.5A or 3.5A, nor have I blown any FETs with the non-polyswitch motor. Definitely don't pin your car against barriers with any motor without a polyswitch.

If you're a careful driver, you can get the non-polyswitch versions because it's cheaper. You can also get the 2.5A polyswitch one too because it won't trip if the car is able to move, so no performance decrease at all.
