I can't believe you have one of those....cool
it makes me crazy when companies discontinue great products before their time... and then they don't even bring them back out when the demand rises...
Kyosho Leaning rider motorcycle
Kyosho Baja Bugs 1/20 scale off-road
Tamiya Tamtech
Tamiya Bruiser
Etc etc.
People LOVE these vehicles...but they were before their time
HPI is one of the few that brings back old cars every now and then...

The leaning rider is no longer available in the US...but you can still get them in europe and Japan (Asia) as well as hop-ups from different places ....and you can get them from eB@y
My 1/20 Optima does wheelies too... I have a Spy and a XXL in mine.. with the stock motor... I'm thinking about putting the Team Orion Elite Mod motor in it... but I don't want to make it so fast that I break something

I've been searching all week for one of those
Now I'm resorting to a connection that I have in HK who has bought about $500 worth of items from my shop to help me out, hopefully he pulls through, the only one I have been able to find to purchase is $200 with shipping, although it is brand new in the box, heh. Still a bit too expensive for a little toy, as I'd have to buy another $50 receiver in order to play with it, heh.

Hey Blind... that source had more than one.... I know you have your heart set on the one you were talking about but there is another that's $20 cheaper...if it hasn't sold already

yep, I got your excellent pics and sent a reply, but after that nothing, heh.
I hope my HK buddy pulls through, if I can pick one up for a little closer to $100 than $200 I would be way happy, I saw a excellent condition used one go for $93 with shipping on eBay a couple months back, so I hope I have good luck, heh.
I think collectors are jacking up the price of the new in box ones

I know where a few are for sale 150-180
akura2,
let me know how the elite mod motor fits. I have the exact same setup as you do; spy and novak fm xxl. I have a NIB salute in transit as well.
I've had some trouble finding a suitable servo; mine works okay but is too skinny. I had to stack the sticky tape; still too much bump steer.

Well it's designed to be used with a standard sized servo ...maybe if you have an old one laying around (like a lot of us do ) maybe you could give it a try... what I do when I have to find a part for my projects is take the car to your LHS and if they are nice enough, they'll take servos out of the boxes for you to test fit. Standard servos are pretty cheap and you don't need anything fancy.... the servo I'm using is 15 years old (easily) and it works great...
I'll try the motor later on today

Thanks. I have 4 servos laying around but either too small or too big. I can make it work better, just need to use some ingenuity.
I'm going to order some hop ups for my pajero. It's fun to play with the pajero for a while then pull out the 1:20 buggy. Both are fun for different reasons.
I had a kawada m-24 and a mini z, but I enjoy bashing more than racing. Still, I need more speed to outrun my pug dogs; they are my only competition until I can somehow get my wife interested.
I'll wait to see how the elite mod motor works for you and order that as well. Speak of the devil, my salute just arrived.
