Can u buy bodies separately or do u have to get them with the car and the remote? pls help me, i need a body deperately. my R34 is losing its front skirt!
For the latest selection of new bodies visit the city morgue.. Just kidding!
Yes, there is a HUGE selection of Mini-Z bodyshells.
Kyosho have their own range named AutoScale. Do a search on that and I am sure you'll find tons of Threads on them.
They sell every bodyshell that Mini-Z's ship with and more.
Mini-Power make some too, the VW Beetle and Beetle RSI with midship motor conversion.
They also make the Peugeot 206WRC and Mini Cooper.
Last but not least, the Mini-ZRacer.com shop who have some Lexan/polycarbonate bodyshells, although not as detailed as the resin/plastic bodyshells, they are lighter and much more resiliant to impacts and rolling.
I have a Skyline as well and all the small pieces have broken off that at the front because of 1 too many impacts . I too want to get a good body.
An idea I had for a temporary fix and is working great for my car so far is ....
Get a ~6inch black (or whatever color you like) cable tie or zip tie what ever you want to call it. Cut both ends off so you only the smooth section. (smooth 1 side , serated on the back) Using the piece you have just hold it at say the left hand side of your car just in front of the wheel arch and the bend it around to the opposite side just in front of the wheel arch.
Trim it to size and then super glue it on. And you have a new front bumper to stop any more of the front end breaking off.
The piece of cable tie will be straight but you can put some bends in it to be roughly the right bend radius before you glue it in
I made mine so it was almost the perfect fit. I bent it so there was just a 1 or 2mm gap at the very front part which allows a tiny bit of impact absorbing flex :-)
Hopefully this makes sense. It certainly does the job quite well for me , pluss it hides all the broken bits :--)
If you dont understand what I mean I will post some pics early next week, as I will be in Melbourne over the weekend and wont be able to upload any pics till I get home monday night.
Cheers

I think the most durable bodyshell has to be the CLK.
It's got the long wheelbase, but more importantly, it's wide and has a neat front skirt that can handle impacts fairly well. I talk from experience.
Mondo is right! The CLK is built for doing battle in racing situations. Nothing really comes close when it comes to protection of the running gear and durability.
