Mini-AZ OLPS/HFAY Season 3
***Jaunuary OLPS Schedule***
Sorry this is going up so late, I got a drive crash for Christmas.
The new OLPS Season III starts this Saturday the 6th with new tracks and the addition of 3010 FET cars! Mini-AZ poked into the top ten several times last season and we have a few drivers that could really go for the win.
We’ll be racing again at the very nice clubhouse facility at Joe’s apartment. It has plenty of room, comfortable appointments, and excellent lighting.
Enter the main gate at Remington Place Apartments and turn left. Park against the North wall just past the office/rec room on the right.
As before with this new schedule, we’ll use the HFAY results as Qualifying for the Clockwise race. The Counterclockwise race will proceed as usual, and the formal racing wraps up by 3pm also as per normal.

This is what makes it so much fun.
Not only are you racing against your local group, but you can compare to someone that lives on the other side of the world or the country.. I really had some good runs at the end of the season, but I still ended up one spot short of my goal. Will and I have been running very close times at all of the events and it will be great to have him here in person for a race or two.. It should be very different than last year..
How long do you stay when you come?
We had 11 cars for the Jan HFAY, this is a new record.. In three weeks we will be running the hour long AZGT final at SpeedWorld on a very big track.. I am pretty sure that we are gonna have over 12 drivers, and have to do something to rewrite some rules for the additional people. Maybe, two qualifying runs to start with since all cars can't run together. Then, a B main with maybe less laps, with a chance to bump-up into the A.. B Main drivers get to start the A with fresh batteries, just some things to think about..
I didn't run great in January, trying out a new motor.. So, I will look forward to seeing the list of drivers that I need to beat this season.. I will still be in first for Mini-AZ, but Brad, Joe, Bill, Sean, and Dusty have all beaten me at one time during the last season. It has really been great racing lately and with more talent the races promise to be better and better..

I didn't do it!!
I believe the video clearly shows that I was the only one to miss him.. Crashing while in the lead like that is clearly bad form, Strike One.
Getting hit by Joe, Strike Two.
Getting hit by Bill, Strike Three.
I guess he was out!

***February OLPS Schedule***
It's hard to say how good a start Mini-AZ is off to in the Season III OLPS until we see the results from the other clubs, but I'm confident we have several drivers near the top of the standings. With eleven drivers participating last time, it was a great time, and I hope we can see all of them as regulars.
As always for the short track, we’ll be racing at the very nice clubhouse facility at Joe’s apartment. It has plenty of room, comfortable appointments, and excellent lighting.
Enter the main gate at Remington Place Apartments and turn left. Park against the North wall just past the office/rec room on the right.
We’ll use the HFAY results as Qualifying for the Clockwise race. The Counterclockwise Qualifying will use the 5 lap solo run, and the formal racing wraps up by 3pm.

The 17th is currently slotted as on off-week for us, but we'll arrange something. I can't say exactly yet until I know the member schedules (as the club grows, it gets tricky).
Are you scheduled to run the OLPS in AA? If not maybe we can bump our running to the 17th. Will you be here during the day, or evening like last time?
A LHS nearby holds informal parking lot racing for all scales/classes on Saturday nights from around 7-10pm if you have something larger you'd like to run there too.

CONGRATULATIONS MINI-AZ!!!
What an outstanding performance right out of the gate for the new season! We grabbed three top-tens in both races and even a win!
We also have three drivers in the top-ten of the point standings. Keep up this performance and there's a good chance the season champion will come from the Great State of Arizona.
There's still ten more races to go though, so keep up the good work and I hope to see you all again on Saturday the 10th for Race #3 & 4.

Outstanding job again in February, Mini-AZ!!!

***March AND April OLPS Schedule***
Coordinating schedules for these two months has proven rather tricky. The March OLPS will be held on March 31st. The last possible moment, so we can't miss this date.
The April OLPS will be held the following weekend on April 7th, so back-to-back weekends.
With so many drivers being out of town, this will be our only official race in April. There is a sort of Demo-Day planned for the evening of the 21st at Speed Sports along with their 1:10 scale activities. Info about this to follow in a new thread.
*** Due to constant issues with CORE glitching, we will be switching to AMB scoring as of March 31st. If you own an AMB transponder please bring it. We will try and have some loners available for those that don't. ***

Can't wait............three weeks of racing in a row. Staring with 5 days in Houston for the Speedline Gran Prix for some 1/8th scale followed by back to back weeks of OLPS or HFAY racing Mini-Z style. Lets represent AZ in style!!
Wow after three months I have finally been able to post on this forum!!!!!!!!!!
I will have the track design done for the next AZ GT when I get back from Texas. It will have two keyhole sections as well as a three tile wide straight for Joe and no 45 degree section either.
