Pattos Michelin Sauber C9 decals, 1/27 scale, clear vinyl in custom inverse color scheme
I had a full sheet of this custom decal set and decided to build matching Michelin R8's in Silver and White to sort of match my set of Sauber C9's. the only modification to the body was to trim back the splitter to about a constant 1-1.5mm.
I did not go crazy with the details on these however I may go back and make another white Michelin R8 with a lot more detail. I wanted see what I could do with these using minimum colors and mask work. I may make the whie Michelin livery my running team livery I like it so much. Just need a 599XX and detailed R8 to round out my fleet. the 599 is going to be tuff to do given the white bodies are all but dried up in the market, not counting the JPN sellers wanting $100+ for a white body which is just insane.
I got impatient and peel mask off to quickly after the gloss black coat and it took some paint with it. Got to remember to let it dry first...
Looks great! I'm partial to the silver . . . The 599 is my main racing body. Its paint is beat up but structurally sound. I always liked the way it looked and drove. I have given up on being able to replacing it. I am hoping the new Vette handles similarly. It seems like it has a similar weight distribution.
