Good or bad price?
Well, its not really a good price Considering that the FETs themselves are supposed to be around 40 cents a piece. I looked up the part online and it is out of stock, so it may be your only option. On the upside, labor is usually the most expensive part of a FET upgrade.

I have always used atomic mods for my upgrades: They have them in stock for 7.99 like I said. I'll check some other sites right now.

I've never installed one of those. I've heard of them before. I'd be willing to give it a shot though. It doesn't look any harder than a FET upgrade. Though, I don't know what your goals with the car are, you should run it on the track and see if its fast enough for you. I have a motor I bought for my car thats just insanely fast. It was probably a waste of money because its too fast to control at all. Tires rip off the car etc. Its pretty ridiculous. It is fun to stick on my speed checker to impress friends though i guess. What do you have done to your Xmod now?

All I have done is add a few visual mods, apply the stage 2 motor kit, neon underglow, and upgrade to High Discharge 750 mAH NiMH batteries. Recommend any other cheap upgrades? My goal really just is to make a racer out of my gtr

I'm thinking of a faster motor but that would mean I need more FETs, and that would mean Li-Poly Batteries, and that would mean chassis modding to fit the batteries. I actually think I'm in over my head on all of this expensive modding. Plus my paypal account is not letting me by stuff online.

You want a racer? How do you want to race it? On a track or just around outside? The hobby may seem a little expensive, but this scale R/C really is cheaper than any other scale out there.

The chassis modding is simple. I can put a set of LIPO in an xmod in 5 minutes or so. I've done it like 5 times. This costs around 40 bucks.

Are you interested in coming to check out the track any time?

Id love to check out the track. Then I'll get the LiPo Battery and the Turbo. Think you can install those for me?

Certain mod shops, that shall remain nameless, are, in my opinion, rediculously over priced and have, at best, dubious marketing. Almost predatory. I've ordered parts from them, but only when no one else had them in stock. And I've never paid them to do my mods for me. But we can chat more about that "in the real."

Bear in mind that for some competitions (like HFAY), there are rules about motors and batteries. Even when there is no motor limit, there's a physics limit depending on the kind of racing you're doing. Put it on the track before you go buying lithium and hot motors.

Speaking of, when are we running February? I should close on the house on the 6th which will be a busy weekend. Katsu is on the 13th-15th. So I'm good Feb 1, 21, 22, and 28th, but we don't want to run HFAY on the last day of the month. Oh, and I'm going back to five 8 hour days instead of four 10 hour days.

Thats true about some races. The motor limits and battery limits are to promote a closer competition! Speaking of physics Nate, remember the T2 motors we tried to run lol! Now that motor passed some physical limitations- TOO FAST.

I"ll call hobbytown and try to set a date.

Probably a little late since I was still up. Maya and I were playing Halo 3.
If you decide you want them after checking out the track I can help install them.

Haha lol, I miss halo 3 on live. My xbox is packed away untill summer so I wont be playing on my system for a while. Is this a private track or is it the hobbytown track?

P.S. I have never driven on a track but I want to spend most of my racing on track.

Maya and I play halo 3 WAY too much. You should get on

The track is private track owned by club members. It is just stored at hobbytown.

In my opinion track racing is the most fun.

Oh, so when can I try my car out on it. The same day as the meet or sooner?

We can probably go up there a little sooner if you'd like. I wouldn't mind practicing the track before the race. When is good for you? I'll PM my phone number so you can text or call so we can work something out. You can also post on here if you want but I might not get back to you as fast.
