My understanding is the Porsche 962 cars are MR-02 chassis. Can other chassis be used? What is the wheelbase dimension? I would like to take a MR-015 and put the Porsche body on it.

You can't put a MR-01/015 or AWD on this body. The only body that will fit is a MR-02, the others are too tall.
The specs call for a LM mount, but I've tried a standard Atomic MM and it works fine without interference as long as you use a damper plate system like the Atomic, PN, etc. You can't use the standard shock damper as it's too tall.
The wheelbase is either 98 or 102mm (I'll check on that later), so the standard 02 setup will support that. The LM motor pod is wider by about 3-4mm than a MM, and the wheels it comes with are 0mm offset front and back. So if you're using a standard 02 MM pod, you'll have to do +2mm ofset wheel on the back to compensate for the narrower motor pod.
You should also consider getting either the tires that come with an LM car or get the NASCAR tires for the back to make it olook more realistic.
The MR015 chassis should work with the Porsche 962 and Mazda 787. The front wheels wont be as wide. I used my MR015 with the Mazda body and it worked very well. Cristian also used the Mazda on his AWD at the PNWC (98mm).
The bodies are 102mm. You can use a standard MM motormount, and DPS. For use with a top shock, you will have to trim the body over the damper post a little.
I will check the Porsche body to see if the Mr015 chassis will fit underneath it.

Yes, the wheelbase on the Porsche is 102mm as well.
I don't know about the Mazda, I don't have one, but the MR-01/015 doesn't fit the Porsche 962, I tried. The Porsche has the 2 air intakes on each side of the co*kpit, which (from the inside) hit the battery holders on those chassis.
I don't believe this, but the system edited the word ****pit!...That's funny!

That's because it thinks your trying to say the "co*k" word which it thinks is profanity. And yet, we can say bitch?
So instead, I use the word cabin which is another name for it.

Or maybe I should just use ROOSTERPIT instead...
I wonder if it would censor someone's name like ****, (rhymes with Mick) Tracy....
