Mini Z.
Just to be clear. Can the whole picture be modified (ie resizing of background and forground items and adding trees, grass, ect) as long as the Mini Z stays the same and the picture looks realistic?

yea, i agree with jetta. we should delay the start of the contest, that way we'll all have time to rush out and ORDER bodies. maybe delay until Apr. 30? (the start, i mean - i can read) JMO

Mini-z,
I was thinking, and maybe you should make doctering photos in Photoshop illegal. I have photo shop 6.0 and I could probly make a pretty sweet ass pic of my mini-z(I don't have a camera so I can't anyway). But not every one has a PhotoShop so that smewhat leaves out those other people that don't have PhotoShop. So maybe you can say "hey mini-z picture doctered in PhotoShop or any other program similar will not be counted" .
but its up to you but I think that would be more fair to those that can't or don't know how to use programs like that.....

hey now, if I can do it anyone can do it...I pulled photoshop 6, illegally * for free * through a 28.8 modem, and taught myself how to use it. It can be done, it'll just take a week for each, the downloading & the learning
Start now!!!!
FIRE THE LASER!!!!!
wow...today has been a very long day for me.....

I need to know exactly how much retouching of the car itself is going to be allowed:
-real license plate
-real windshield wipers
-eliminating the huge antenna (and adding the real one)
-real tires
-etc.

i-WERKS, yes, all of the background can be dubbed in if you like. Ken, I would say to avoid adding that level of detail, removing the antenna is okay, but adding items that would be very unlikely to appear on a real Mini-Z is probably crossing the line. RE postponing the start date, we'll see how many people still don't have their entries within the last week of the compo and consider extending it based on that.

Photoshop
If you don't have Photoshop, you can download an evaluation version of Paint Shop Pro, basically, it has the same features Photoshop offers

Full version Photoshop 6 & serial number can be found on a well known peer to peer program. Or, if you still can't find it, talk to me online on AOL IM "DJCornphlake" or shoot me an email russ@floor4.net.

ok so this sucks.. i have no digicam so i cannot enter this competition.. last competition i _could_ enter i found out about too late (logo comp)..
so neway, here's an idea for those who _can_ enter..
i had thought about taking a photo on a plain background of my mini-z (imprezza decal-ed like a GT racer).
then i was going to find a shot of real cars on a track, possibly at the starting line, or in action driving round the course.
this is where photoshop comes in.. place my mini-z "in the pack" so to speak by using photocomposition techniques. i'd hope to be able to get it looking like my mini-z was in the race with all the other cars.. considering the paintjob, black with a few bridgestone and penzoil decals, i'd have to use a photo of a GT race (production sports cars etc)
hope this gives someone ideas
