Question Kyosho M1A2 Abrams Mini Tank

Although I located a couple of posts on Kyosho's Mini Tanks, which didn't really go into any details before a "war" engaged between the members, I was just wondering if any of the "peaceful" members own any of the Mini-Tanks and what their opinions are on the Mini-Tanks.

Also, are any of the parts interchangeable with the Mini-Z MR-01 (or any other model) since Kyosho's website claims the tank "boasts the same dimensions and sophisticated suspension as the hugely popular Mini-Z Racers". X-speed? Are you also stuck with the provided-tank radio?

I doubt a single part would be compatible with the Mini-Z... the motors might be HACK-able to trade them, the electronics Might also be a hackable swap... since the tank does not have a turret function (there is supsoe to be one version with turret and one with out, digi q flash back lol)... they are mearly the same scale... realy dont have anythign to do with the Mini-Z... they would relate more to the Palm Runner, since it too is NOT proportional... (and yes your stuck with that controller, because of the non proportional part).

Thanks for the quick reply. After reading your post, I would probably be very disappointed in the Mini Tank after running the other R/C's I own. It's just too bad I can't try one out up close and in person without having to order one first. Thanks once again.

Hey TNB

Got one of those when it first came out but ended up selling it. The tank is slow considering the size of the motors. Suggest running it on smooth surface only. The tracks would come out if I ran it on dirt or even on carpet. available options from Kyosho but decided it wasn't worth the cost. Excellent details for a little tank though. The parts and electronics are not interchangeble with Mini-z . Opt to go with Tamiya instead if yer looking for a tank.

I was reading on Kyosho's website that the M1A2 Abrams and Challenger 1 MK-3 Mini-Tanks come with two 130-sized electric motors. Consequently, I would think that the standard Mini-Z X-speed motors should drop right in if they are 130's.

No carpet, no dirt.... A tile/track tank? Could I run over a Mini-Z with it or better yet run over a Mini-T with the Mini Tank? Doesn't sound promising....
