Misleading hand-drawn picture

The hand-drawn picture on the first post is wrong. No wonder people have been making mistakes. PLEASE REMOVE IT.

For 2n3904 transistor, B should be in the center, C left, E right.

And, after 7 years...

Cheap and working USB solution.

You will need:
1) FTDI tool (USB-to-TTL) adapter with jumper switched to 3.3V. (like this). (1$ cost) (or this)
2) JST cable (4 pin) - here 10 pcs for $3.
3) Diode 1N4148 (D1 on schema)

Thats it.

Schema:
DIY ICS Adapter for MINI-Z.jpg

Jst pinout: [GND -- +5V -- Signal -- X]
(It like this when turn on model in pairing/ICS mode)
GND normaly toward to the front of the car on native/dasmikro boards.

FTDI========JST
GND ------------>GND
TX ---|>|(D1)--->Signal
RX --------------->Signal

Left - pins on FTDI tool, right- pins of JST conector on mini-z.

Thats it. Works like charm with native ASF manager software.

Also works with dasmikro asf boards.

Not tested on nano.

Hi, any from here, which needs #82083 I.C.S USB Adapter HS.

Off course for FTDI (or any other usb2ttl tool) you need a driver.
