Great rundown Jim! Makes me want to look and see if I still have a 575gtc anywhere. I think it would make a nice carpet car for larger layouts.

I find that much of the 360gtc's twitchiness comes from the thick windshield material under the roof that is not visible fron the outside. I think at least 3g can be removed fron the highest area of the car, which does make a huge difference. I don't really find the body very twitchy, primarily because I have driven some really twitchy cars.

The 935 at medium speeds is a blast to drive, it finds its home on the medium radius corners. It's the sweepers that tend to catch it out at high speed.

I just picked up a few bodies that I had left at my brother's place. Notably a 934 and an Audi TT

I wouldn't run one without internal reinforcement. Atomic made one for it. I have one of the carbon reinforcement strips, but don't know which 350z I should put it on. The test car, or the Xanavi. I sto wish I had a calsonic.

What club are you racing at? There is only one class that isn't restricted to the specific wheel of the body. I have broken quite a few kyosho wheels, and not being able to get replacements is a big issue right now.

There are a lot of unnecessary restrictions, like the fragile kyosho stock t-plates. We switched to upgraded t-plates in our box stock classes because so many were breaking every race.

All of our classes permit wheel replacement, as it is necessary to keep people on track. I don't want to tell anyone how to make their rules, however, I feel that adjustments shield be made to keep people on track as much as possible. The box stock class that we run at 4 different regional tracks permits only durability upgrades (t-plate, wheel nuts), and bearings. With the RWD cars mostly coming with bearings, every car should be permitted bearings for parity.
Excel Drones on Garden City MI is the nearest track to me that I know of that does club racing. there is another track with a mini course, bit I havent seen anything about racing.

It seems mini z racing pretty new to the area. Excel there is just now really starting to put together the classes.

I really dont like open classes. always seems like it's more who has more money.

I guess it's a question for a different post, but the HFAY, how do those work? I have no equipment like the tiles, but could I set the course up on carpet? would just need to figure out a barrier, probably get some small diameter PVC.

I think there needs to be some upgrades, tires, wheels, bearings, t-plate, disc damper and 70t/3500kv motor with AAA cells is some of the best racing you can have.

Limit gearing to 9t 70t, and 10t brushless. And the speed is near identical.

HFAY requires 2x wide-L and a lap counter. 3 racers on track at the same time to qualify as a race. Then the stats can be sent by the representative of thr club to the organizer to be posted.

I take it back, I did add the CF nose reinforcement with Goop.

I had always wanted the Calsonic Skyline R34 back in the day, and grabbed the Calsonic 350z when it was new, back in 2006. Then stopped racing for 10 years.

Other than the front springs (for now) and using the wheels that came with the autoscale, my LM car is set up just like that. I did replace a few screws with titanium ones. I bought the car used and it had a few stripped out already.I figured the titanium wouldn't hurt.

the 70t super stock class if they allowed a disc damper and limited the pinion would be that way as well.

and for the HFAY, looks like I wouldn't be able to, those tracks are expensive. And I don't have 2 other racers.
